Art, is it just a load of old cobblers?

I’ve seen some nonsense referred to as art over the years but this takes some beating

Can you better that?

Its the same as that moth that landed on Cristiano Ronaldo in the Euro cup final. If someone had caught the moth, it would have been worth stupid amounts for what it was. That banana is thee banana above the art display.
Crazy how this speices of ours is the dominant one on this planet

Apparently him eating the banana was just him exhibiting his own piece of art

A lot of modern art is basically bollox, and plays on the ‘all art is subjective’ concept - which is basically Carte Blanche to claim any old nonsense as modern or conceptual art.

Personally I do like art in the traditional sense; painting and sculpture. Walking into the Sistine Chapel is an experience I’ll never forget, truly breathtaking. Likewise the Raphael Rooms at the Vatican, the Louvre. Last year I went to a Stanley Spencer exhibition in Wakefield, one of my favourite artists, was excellent. Other favourites would be Lucian Freud, Dalí. I really like Greg Gilbert, former lead singer in the Delays who is now an artist and specialises in biro miniatures. I have an original of his hanging at home. It’s the same as music in that everybody likes what they like (nothing worse than a music snob) but there definitely has to be limits on what can be classed as true art, in my opinion. Doesn’t mean a person can’t like it, but there’s a big difference between traditional art, abstract concepts as art and meaningless bollox claiming to be art.

I like Botero, he does all the art chubbying people up. Went to his gallery in Bogota. Check out his pieces.
