Thanks Ole

I'm excited by football, and United again, and looking forward, not backwards.
When I have defended Ole it's not because I think he is a great manager, or better than x y and z. It's because he got the job, and I want him to have his chance.

I was encouraged because I researched a little on his time at Molde. He was thought of as intelligent, willing to learn, a good man manager, and had a vision of how he wanted to play.
I discounted Cardiff, he had an owner who interfered, even chose the team, I think he was on a hiding to nothing.
I was also encouraged by his signings, and what he says he looks for when he buys, which is someone who wants to play for us.

The last two games have been great, but we need to see about playing defensive teams, personally I don't think we will do much better, we don't have the personnel, and I don't think we will get them until next summer;
Nothing is definite yet about the long term, he may or may not make it, but surely every one is a bit more pleased.

No disrespect to other posters, we all have our opinion, but I could never see the argument that he is clueless, unqualified, terrible etc. Or the idea that Poch is clearly better, he maybe better, but how can it be clear until we know how Ole will do.
And that's from our posters, I always disregard posters from other sites. Some are sincere, maybe right, but they don't watch like we do, don't have the same hopes and fears, and 80% of the time are on the WUM.

I also disregard comments on appearance, what he says in interviews etc. He is not the man to rock the boat, but I think behind the scenes he makes his views known, and is getting listened to.

So cheers for the last two games Ole, and hope for more of the same.

We have a shocking away record mainly due to poor efficiency at both ends and bad luck. Its crazy we won an away game lol. So rare PSG Norwich City and Manchester City.

Agree with the op. I too did quite a bit of reading around Ole's time at Molde and that is what he is trying to replicate at united. It won't happen overnight. And he needs the right players, especially in midfield, before we can say that he has had a fair chance.

He’s got us playing effective counter attacking football against the top sides. That’s the first stage/phase of his long term vision.

Next phase is to be able to play fluid attacking football against all sorts of tricky opponents. That will take some time with the right recruitments.

We’ve been let down too often with the inconsistencies of this team. Dropped too many points due to a variety of rectifiable reasons.

But in the meantime, we need to tighten up on our defence and make it resolute. It’s been a while since we’ve kept a clean sheet.

I believe that if we can manage to get a run of clean sheets, add in the abilities of our attacking threats then we will become even more difficult to beat.

It’s a long road, but Ole is certainly in control of the wheel.

Still better than the last guy who made every interview about himself

While I agree with the OP that we won't be as effective against defensive sides I think we can be much much better than we have with the current personnel.

Just having the CF in an around the 6 yard box to finish off chances and getting more runners from midfield into the box should significantly improve our record against these teams.

With the improving form and confidence of Fred and McT we should be getting more goal threat from MF.

Martial needs to sort himself out and determine if he wants to be a top class CF...

From his 11 starts Martial has 6 goals and 3 assists. Considering he has struggled with injuries this season, I think that is a decent return. Imagine what he could do if we had actually had some creativity in midfield. Hopefully Pogba can come in and improve on that and we can also make a signing in the window.
