Ake

Numerous links with ake coming back to the bridge with our transfer ban being lifted. In general I think its a positive move, good price, knows the club, Premier league experience, right age, good mentality and a very good player. But the big question about the move for me is what it means for everybody else, I assume if he were to come back it would be to start and for me rudiger should be the first name on the team sheet defensively. Where does that leave tomori, zouma and christiensen ? Did we jump the gun with tomori? Would he be happy being third choice? Do we cash in on zouma and leave ourselves with christiensen who seems relatively happy to earning his wage as a squad player?

Ake is definitely worth considering at £40m buy back. He is a good player who suits modern football. He would be an improvement on what we have. Only negative is while I can accept we don’t need/we wont get a world class CB anytime soon, I don’t think Ake has the potential to be world class. Perhaps in an ideal world we can get a CB of Ake’s level who also could end up being one of the best

Would rather sign an elite CB if we were to spend on that position, if possible. Don’t see the point in spending a big fee on a player not that much better than what we already have.

I personally would prioritise spending on a top winger and CB. Then after those a striker to compete with Tammy and a LB to replace Alonso.

I don't mind Ake as a direct replacement for Zouma. Ake in for £40m and Zouma out for £40m.

In the summer we can evaluate our defence and see who needs moving on and if another CB is needed. I'm hoping Rudiger isn't crocked.

We definitely need another attacker in the January transfer window. With Pedro and Giroo out of favour and Bats being Bats we can do with another quality attacker.

Are you not being forced into it because Man City want him in Jan too. You can get him cheaper than what City will pay.

Bin Zouma off and Christensen would be a maybe as well.

He is a better defender than what you have now.
Bournemouth was in the game until he came off against us. He is very quick and can pass the ball out from the back.

Christensen got rave reviews in Germany but he's never come close to living up to them in the PL.

Ship him out.

I'd love Ake back at the Bridge. Top player who play both CB and LB which is very useful indeed. He's played much more as a CB at Bournemouth but I've got a feeling that Lamps and Morris might look to play him as a LB quite often if he returns.

Don't forget it will be a further block to Marc Ghuei as well.

I personally wouldn't be adverse to Zouma and Christensen being moved on. They're not bad players but I think it's obvious there're better players available.

I heard the Ake discussion on talksport this morning, apparently Frank would like him back and we have a buy back clause for 40m.

Rudi, Ake, Tomori and Ghuei wouldn't be the worst CB squad members in the world.

That said, I think there are more pressing areas in the squad to sort out , rather than CBs!

Would be very happy with those 4
