I just read this article on IGN. It's a very long but worthwhile read written by IGNs deputy editor. Enjoy.....

for this.
Brings back memories this story. I was on holiday with my family about 30 years ago. The holiday coincided with my brother’s birthday and his present from my folks was a Gameboy. I was so envious and would try at every opportunity to play it when he was not about, and at any opportunity I got I would hide under my bed just to give me that a little longer before he found me and snatched it back off of me.
This didn’t last long and before I knew he had started hiding the thing
My folks seeing how upset I was but not having the money to just go and buy me a Gameboy, instead bought me a Game & Watch

I always had the Sega systems with my younger brother having the Nintendo ones. I stumbled across this article as we have just bough the switch for my youngest for Christmas. I remember playing the Gameboy for the first time and being amazed at how good it was. I was going to say how spoiled kids are these days but I think we were too. These days it's almost expected that the latest systems/phones/TVs etc do everything. We got to experience groundbreaking stuff.

Gameboy was just brilliant for its time. I remember my cousin having the Gamegear as well. We were on a long journey in the car somewhere and I recall being amazed at his handheld device being in colour. Sonic looked great but it’s biggest flaw was the battery life. The Gamegear sucked does AA’s dry whereas the Gameboy albeit in black n white had some longevity on it.

I used to smash batman on the game gear.
Also used to love the NES, SNES and N64.
Guess I have that Swedish guy to thank for that?
Good read that was

My cousin had the Atari Lynx which may have been the first colour handheld? I remember borrowing it for a couple of weeks. If memory serves me I think it had Altered Beast and Paperboy!!!!

You'd be able to tell by how heavy the packet was.
