Amazing Toon Fans - Just a Myth

Newcastle are offering season ticket holders a free additional half-season ticket to gift to fellow supporters to help fill St James' Park.

Sunday's 2-1 victory over Southampton was Newcastle's lowest home crowd for a Premier League match since November 2010, with 42,303 in attendance.

The free ticket will cover 10 home Premier League games, starting against Everton on 28 December.

Tickets will be available on a first-come first-served basis from Tuesday.

See the BBC Sport website for the full article. I thought it was April Fools Day, but no apparently the Geordie Fans aren't all they are cracked up to be.

I think there’s an ongoing protest at Ashley’s ownership

Still pretty good really, considering they hate the owner and manager.

I think it is more difficult to stay away than prove the point they are trying to prove. I therefore wouldn't say it's bad support but good long term support. Although this is a clever way of the club to squash the objective of the fans.

Which is still 10k more than Leicester's capacity.

You didn't think this through, did you?

Not won a bean for 50 yrs and still getting 40-50000 crowds where were Leicester fans 4 yrs ago

This was never a post about Leicester. It is about Newcastle and how their fans are always lording it up as the best in the land through thick and thin. Simply not true.

But as you ask, 4 years ago every game at the KP was sold out, exactly the same as this season, and every season since we've been back in the Prem.
