On Sunday Nuno welcomes to Molineux fellow countryman José Mourinho along with his newly acquired Tottenham side.
Since Mourinho took over from Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs have played 4 league games resulting in an away win at West Ham, a win at home to Bournemouth, a loss at Old Trafford and a complete demolition job on Burnley at home last Saturday. The pick of the goals from their 5-0 win was a stunning strike from Harry Kane from almost 30 yards out and a solo effort from Son Heung-Min which is being lauded as the goal of the season.

Wolves are now unbeaten in 11 league games following the 2-2 away draw with Brighton on Sunday. This was followed by a 4-0 home win on Thursday against Besiktas in the Europa League which keeps their unbeaten run going and extends it to 16 games in the league and European competition.

Nuno’s shrewd choice of squad for Thursday’s game means that his entire attacking force have been rested with Jimenez, Traore, Doherty and Jonny Otto all left out and Diogo Jota only playing for 30 minutes during which time he scored the second fastest hat-trick in Europa league history (11 minutes)

Spurs were also in mid-week action at the Allianz Arena where they were beaten 3-1 by a dominant Bayern Munich in their final Champions League group game. Having already qualified for the final 16, Jose Mourinho fielded a much changed side to not only to rest his star players but to watch some of the youngsters and assess their capabilities. He would have no doubt have been delighted to see 19 year old Ryan Sessegnon, on his full debut for the club, score a 20 minute equaliser and become the youngest ever Spurs Champions League goal scorer.

Wolves currently sit in 6th place in the league table with 24 points but if they want to keep their unbeaten run going they will need to be at their very best against a Spurs side that appear rejuvenated since their managerial change and are close behind in the table occupying 7th place with 23 points.

The game will be shown live on beIN Sports 1

Gem’s prediction: 2-2

Me too Gem, but if results had gone against us today we would be 8th and 8 points behind Chelsea. Instead if results all go our way tomorrow we will be 5th and only 2 points behind Chelsea, and only 5 points behind the current Premier League champions.

Lots of ifs in there, I do appreciate.

Apart from the Sheffield score the results today so far have been generally in our favour

Amazing to see how the Blades have done so far this season. Good to see that it’s not just us rocking the hierarchy.

Agree. Be happy for them to get into the Europa League place, with us in the Champions League.

Any chance you could put that in English?

Keep thinking the blades will fade away and still think they will finish bottom half, but they are doing a fine job of proving me wrong so far. Good that they kept the Villa in touch with the bottom three today though.
