I'm sure that most think they are in the last of those, but somehow I doubt it. I'm definitely on the optimistic side, and others are not, you know who you are. So I'll give realism a shot, just this once.
I'm so pleased with whats happening at the moment that I have dreams of glory, winning at least one cup, finishing top 4, and as for next season, the skies the limit;
But to be realistic, we are still very much a work in progress, we are still relying on youngsters to fill gaps, we are still a couple of injuries away from real trouble, we still have the Pogba problem, and we still haven't found a reliable way of beating defensive teams.
So I think we can expect more depressing results and performances, similar to the ones that have gone before. But with our increase in confidence less of them/ And that we all realise there are still things to be done, and that Christmas isn't quite here yet.
But I do think we can be optimistic for the future.
Three years ago I had to miss the Liverpool game due to a heart op. It was a biggie, engine out, rebore, new valves, cylinder head gasket.etc.
Well blow me I'm missing the Everton game which I was really looking forward to, as I need another.
However this one is minor, oil change, new filters, that kind of thing. In Sunday, boo, home by Tuesday/Wednesday.
For those of you who commute by train or horse I don't have an analogy, except perhaps one of those penknives that has a blade for taking stones out of horses hooves could provide one!
Anyway, I would be obliged if someone could put a two or three line summary of the match on the Monday, you know sort of "We were crap but fluked a win, so and so played well" that would do it. The match live is full of "ffs ref" " that should be a red" " Martial ffs"; None of which tells me much.
I'm just hoping for a win this time, performance can come second.
Optimism, Pessimism, Realism

Good luck there. Post when you're back online. At least we'll not have another Macca situation.

A little dig at Jose implying his team is defensive.

Not really considering 1st half we played against a low block. I suppose Mourinho loves low blocks lol.

All the best to you 52. Ironic how well automotive terms work with cardiology. This will be a walk in the park compared to the major work you had done previously. I had a short in one of my wires and the head electrocardiologist mechanic zapped it in short time and I haven't been rushed to the emergency since. Amazing how good these blokes are in the garage. We'll give a report after we smash Everton and Big Dunc.

Best wishes for the surgery .. the auto analogies reminded me of back in the day to my cardiology surgeon reassuringly referring my forthcoming surgery as "plumbing" !

I'm all for ole, but he can't put digs out when his team, especially against the big boys is just as defensive.
