Diagnosed with a heart condition. I read elsewhere he’d had to give up football “indefinitely" but here it says he’s looking to return.

Such a shame. Really liked him as a player and seems like a top professional. Hopefully he manages to make it back but if not he certainly seems cut out for a coaching role. Very clever footballing brain

I have the same as him, and had the same device fitted 5 years ago following my cardiac arrest.
I was told I could never play contact sport again as the device might get damaged. Also told I shouldn't do too much exercise as it could trigger and arrest. Maybe it has changed in 5 years, but I doubt he'll play again sadly for him.

A very good and under rated player for us. Shame about his heart. Ajax will find a role for him. They don't give up on one of their own.

Hopefully he can get back to playing... If not his actually had a good career and should grateful. Good lad. Will probably make a good manager...

Lads, it's totally blown out of proportions.
He has an inflamed heart muscle and back in training in January.
The Dutch news doesn't even call it a heart condition because it isn't,

He's said himself he wants to be back playing asap. It's not going to be the end of his career
