What is Levy's plan?

If there's one man to blame for this current mess it's our Daniel. Poch managed to get us to punch above weight for a few years, getting champions League every year on a shoestring budget, but now reality is biting.

I wonder what Levy/ENIC's plan is? We obviously won't invest in the squad, so is he just hoping Jose can deliver top 4 every year with this current structure? Or will the stadium revenues be enough to keep the club in profit?

It seems a broken structure and will be interesting to see what happens once we have a couple of years outside the champions league.

How long does that go on for Chronic? Waiting on revenue to go up. I bet nobody thought when Pochettino came in that we'd get CL consistently and have a run like we did last year.

That's all additional revenue that was unanticipated yet our transfer budgets have largely remained unchanged. I'm not suggesting we spend big and throw money at our problems now.

I'm frustrated that instead of spending £200m today we could have spent £100m yesterday when our squad was at it's peak and added a couple of real quality signings to boost the team.

We've done well to build where we were on a budget. In 2017/18 we could have gone out and bought a CM/ FW/ ST and pushed on for example. We didn't. Now we buy to get back to where we already were which is a total opportunity missed.

That is completely the wrong model to adopt in it's entirety. The list of names you've given like Bale, Modric, Berbatov, Son, Eriksen, Dele Alli - these names span over a decade and never all in the same team at once.

The "sweet spot" has worked while we've been predominantly a selling club. For every one of those good signings we've also had players in the sweet spot range which have been dreadful but because our expectation has never been to what it is now, we've gotten away with it. Rubbish signings brushed under the carpet and the good ones develop and get sold. Never actually realising the full potential ourselves.

The point i'm banging on about is that on the rare occasions where we've managed to build a strong team on that sort of transfer budget range we've then needed to capitalise on that and spend more to add the finishing touches and turn it into genuine challengers.

What we will get now is the likes of Vertonghen or Eriksen etc. leaving and in the next 2-3 years we might have another "sweet spot" signings but it's basically a conveyor belt of stagnating.

Twice we have missed the boat. Under Redknapp and moreso under Pochettino. Levy is operating in the same way he did when we were a mid-table side. Things need to change if we want to be a big club and actually create a winning team consistently.

Oh do stop moaning Hugo. It aint that bad Spurs are still within touch of top four, still in the Cl, still in the FA Cup and we have not even reached Xmas yet. Keep your moaning until the end of the season.

That's rich coming from you, doing everyone's head in with your unthoughtful ramblings over the last months and years.

One minute we are title contenders, the next month we are trash. Never any value add or critical thinking from you. Just cliché nonsense and dementia.

Boss is a very abusive and foul mouthed poster, so shall have to filter him again. Saying posters have dementia is way over the top.

Levy has always run this club as a business. Profit motive is number one.
I was always hoping the new stadium was a sign that ENIC were eventually planning to sell out, and were simply window dressing the club for a large asking price.

However performance is part of Levy's equation. If the club was to seriously flirt with relegation we would all see Levy panic like crazy and start buying.
I think the move to Mourinho was a small indication of panic beginning under Pochettino. Of course Levy would never blame himself.
But maybe, .....just maybe ...... the best thing that could happen to us under Mourinho is to start losing games! ....

Will our supporters never stop moaning. We have a new manager, he needs to have a couple of transfer windows. It could be worse we could be supporting Morecombe. Sometimes I think our fans do not deserve to have Spurs as their club.

You all deserve exactly what you have, Luckily we have a club that wins stuff!!!

You want to dish it out but run away and filter anyone who challenges you and you've no answer for. I even backed Sandy in a different thread - silly me.

Levy’s plan is certainly not to win trophies. If he does by chance as a by product of making a lot of money, then great.
