It's easy and 'cool' to knock it, but G&S has some great characters, and the writing is superb, blending humour and emotion.
Though I've seen funnier shows, like Fawlty Towers, OFAH etc, G&S has a good mixture.

Marx brothers and Peter Sellers too.
