England are favourites for Euro 2020 probably because they host the semi's and the final but surely France should be heavy favourites. I know they werent spectacular in qualifiers and Deschamps does make some odd selections but the current holders of the world cup have won the euros as holders of the world cup before and I wouldnt bet against them doing it again.
A quick look at the french rooster and its scary the talent they have. Potential World class players in every position except goal keeper.
Goal Keepers
Hugo lloris - Potential weak link if there ever was one
Steve Mandanda - decent back up
Central Defenders
Raphael varane - World class
Aymeric laporte - World class
Adil rami - Decent Player
Clement Lenglet - Good player
Sam Umtiti - Decent player
Presnel Kimpembe- Very Good player
Left Backs
Ferland Mendy - Very good player. This kid is going to be the best left back in world football soon
Lucas Hernandez - Very good defensive fullback
Benjamin Mendy - Injuries have ruined him but useful player
Lucas Digne - Very good player
Right Backs
Benjamin Pavard - Outstanding Player
Djibril Sidibé - Decent cover
Midfielders
N'Golo Kanté- World Class, Best player in the world in his position and a key player in a talented squad
Paul Pogba - World Class - Very Good player on his day
Blaise Matuidi - Good player
Corentin Tolisso - Good player
Tanguy Ndombele - Decent Player
Moussa Sissoko - Useful player who will be in the squad
Mattéo Guendouzi - Talented youngster who will probably be in the squad
Attackers
Kylian Mbappé World class - best striker in the world in my opinion.Could explode big time this season
Antoine Griezmann - World Class - Big game player, probably the best in world football if you exclude Messi and Roaldo
Ousmane Dembélé - Potential world class. Just in a rut at the moment
Kingsley Coman - Very good player
Olivier Giroud - Useful player
My bet will be on belgium as their squad has been together the longest and they are a very good squad but France must surely be favourites.
Why are England Favourites for the Euro's?

That's better Loco. Couldn't care less about the hair etc, only the football.
I've seen games where he has looked world class, but not enough. It the point I was trying to make, how consistent do you have to be.
Take Salah for example, he had a full season of great play, and was surely world class. Then according to reports, including on here, his form dipped for a while. Was he still world class?

Not sure I agree with your last comment, when you say his form dipped what are we saying here, because he didn't repeat scoring 40 plus goals? Not if any donut again and his numbers last year were hardly poor. I'd say Salah is world class because he has done it consistently now and this is his 3rd season. If we win the league, will that not cement his world class tag?

I don't watch Liverpool enough to know, but there were comments on here. In any event he is only an example, if a player has one or two great seasons then his form dips, is he still world class.
Your last sentence I don't agree with, plenty of United players have won titles without being near world class. It could be argued Matt Le Tiss was world class and he won nowt.
By the way I think Mo is world class even without a title.

Fair point about Le Tissier and about your title winning teams, however, I am not suggesting a load of our players are world class either. But we have a few in our squad, team game an all that.

England have the quality going forward to hurt any team, but there hasn't been enough in midfield from them for a while now and the defence and goalkeeper are poor in all honesty. Maybe if a defender or two can improve in the 2nd half of the season, it might look better, but I'm saying the QF unless they get a favourable draw.
France and Belgium I'd say are the favourites, can't think of many other national sides that are close to their level. Italy, Germany and Spain have declined.

Germany will be strong enough. They've still a strong core and have players like Havertz, Gnabry and Werner who have developed since the last tournament and who are bang in form. One thing we all know is you write off "ze Germans" at your peril.

Think a bit of tournament experience will let Germany down. They've still got a strong side obviously with plenty of talented youngsters, just think they've gone a bit stale under Low over the last couple of years.

Probably because of our record in qualifying and how many people will have had a bet on us

Is it news to you that English people bet on England??
Not everyone who places a bet is an expert. A huge amount of people just stick a few quid on their team for a bit of fun.
