My annual ( doomed ) plea for JA’ers to avoid clickbait has been spurred by posts on the GGOTW thread. We’re witnessing the death of print news. It’s a surprise it’s lasted this long because as soon as a paper is printed it’s out of date. There’s only one reason on the Plus side for them for me and that’s keeping Zach in food, swally & 'other'.

So they're turning to the internet. Reach plc own just about every tabloid rag in the UK outside of Murdoch’s ‘Hacking Dead Kids’ Phones’ Dark Empire. And if anything they can be worse. Reach’s ‘newspapers’ include the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, The Sunday People, Daily Express, Sunday Express, Daily Star, & Daily Star Sunday. As well as our very own Scottish Daily Reetard and Sunday Wail.

The Head of Reach’s Digital Sport is Matt Lawless. He sent an email recently to all Reach plc's Sport ‘Journalists. ‘’10 stories a day MINIMUM. All MUST be tweeted along with scheduled tweets. 1 million page views each this month MINIMUM’’

As Private Eye points out, average story is 400 words = 4,000 words in an 8 hour shift. That includes uploading, lunch, and having a dump. Those who don’t meet it get the Boot. Journos obviously post controversial stuff to get reactions. The more the better. So remember this next time you get in a lather about a tabloid ‘news’ link about your team or your rivals’.
