There’s nothing fake about it, I think the honour system is a sick f*cking joke.

Does anybody “deserve” a knighthood? What does it even mean?

It is faux outrage though.

I'm fairly sure none of the normal people who accept awards for doing extraordinary work for the benefit of others really give a shіt whether you respect them or not.

Also the awards given to the likes of Saville were given for their 'contribution' to charitable causes, etc. well before TPTB knew of their abhorrent actions.

Yes, some people deserve a knighthood.
It means, or should, that they have been exenplary in their chosen field.
Some have done far far more than me for society and I am happy to see them recognised.

You’ve read an article about the guy turning down his OBE, you’ve admitted that you’re clueless about the honours list, so you’ve obviously been swayed by the article and jumped on the band wagon!

I’m using this as an example. I have full respect for Kenny. As a player, manager and most f all a great man.

The OP used a Hillsborough campaign supporter as an example. I used a great man who supported Hillsborough campaign to show he is wrong.
