Jesse

So the meme doing the rounds today is how good old jesse has managed to go through all of 2019 without getting a single goal or assist for us in the league, im too lazy to check but if thats true or even if he did maybe bag 1 assist by accident then for goodness what more does he have to do(or not do) to get chucked, literally offers nothing for us bar taking a sqaud space, is on a ridiculously inflated contract which will be massive sticking point in getting rid i assume

I mean a few years back he had a really good spell where it looked like he may be able to do a job for us as a very good squad player, and not just a few games as well he was actually decent for a few months and who can forget his great cup final goal but ffs hes close to being exibit a in why we wont challenge the top teams if he continues to get games

Good squad players were players like Solskjaer, Fortune, Park, O’Shea, Fletcher, Brown, Nani. Guys that came in time and time again and delivered. It is impossible to justify Lingard’s inclusion in the squad. An attacking player who doesn’t contribute offensively.

No one seems to remember those squad players were joining a team scattered with world class players and manager.

Yeah and Lingard flaw would magnify even more amongst the very top players. These players mentioned still performed well as individuals.

Tolerating mediocre players like Jesse is not a sign of positive thinking, as some deluded fans would like to believe. It's a sign of defeatism.

Was Park an attacking player who didn’t contribute offensively?

In terms of goals/game, Lingard’s career stats look a lot like Park’s and aren’t far off Nani’s.

aren't far off Nanis?!?

Nani played 147 times in the PL and scored 26 goals and provided 43 assists

he's light years behind Nani

even Ji Sung, who got 22+26 in slightly more games than Jesse has played

Nani - involved in 69 goals
JSP - 48 goals
Lingard - 27

Exactly

Plus when you actually watch the 3 you would know JSP and Nani were miles ahead of Lingard and offered so much more

United will never get back to being at the top while Lingard is considered a good enough squad player.

He isnt. He is crap.

He needs to be moved on now. A whole year without a goal or assist is simply unacceptable, even for a squad player, which he isn’t given how many matches he starts.

Championship level player, no more no less.

Nowt wrong with that, but he should not be anywhere near a united shirt.
