In a game where even a 2% difference in players performance can turn a results for or against you a 77% difference is a chasm, a gulf in absolute class that cannot be defined on a single factor alone.
The old contrived match officials bias is not up for contention anymore as VAR is ensuring more correct calls are being made.
So where does this gulf in class between Liverpool and the second most decorated English club stem from?
One could put part of that on to each of the fans, head coach and his coaching team, the team (though you could argue the team is the vision of the head coach) and the club management. Feel free to discuss proportion to each.
It is clear from the table, which doesn’t lie as much as it used to, there is a 87% difference between Liverpool and Manchester United.
So referring back to the 2% differential, Man Utd fans would be much better served, sensible in fact, in channelling their efforts towards teams that are in this bandwidth ie Spurs and Wolves, rather than casting their ire and much ascribed envy on their significant betters (4th place up to the 1st placed)
