Where it went all wrong

Five things

1. Chambers getting injured changed the game and Mustafi coming on as his replacement. He was the culprit who caused us to drop deeper and enabling Chelsea to control the game

2. Leaving on Lacazette after 60 mins mark where we could have brought Smith Rowe or Pepe on. Laca is short of confidence and he currently shouldn't in the team as he doesn't press as well as our youth. Against United he shouldn't start.

3. Leno making an easy mistake

4. Craig Pawson booking Maitland Niles and Torriera for holding a player and when Chelsea's Jorginho did the same bottling it to give a card.

5. Willock will fail at Arsenal if he doesn't improve his decision making. His introduction as a sub hasn't helped Arsenal one bit.

Torreira was also fouled for the first goal. It was pretty clear, not sure why it was allowed.

The game also highlighted our fitness issues. These waaankers really need to be whipped into shape.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, the VAR replay seemed to ignore that.

It is hard to change style half way through a season to a far more uptempo one. Even harder if you do it during the hectic Christmas period. Even harder when you have a lot of injuries and inexperienced kids filling in roles that they aren't used to.

If Emery had gone during the last international break and Arteta had come straight in we would no doubt be far healthier in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought Torreira went down to easy. It looked like both were tussling, and he went down like a bag of the brown stuff. Gotta be stronger when defending.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spot on
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Foul is foul. Jorghino pushed Torreira down.

Indeed it was a foul and red card. These refs need to stop being funny attention seekers and just ref the game fairly.

It went all wrong when Leno made that individual mistakes and Jorghino fouled Torreira before.

If Leno didnt make that mistake, we wouldnt have lost the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure what your point is? Leno has been pathetic for a while, yet the usual bunch of Arsenal worshipers always try to cover for him, some claim he is still "learning"?
Why the hell is he starting in the PL is he doesn't know how to play his position?

Yeah I don't really get the 'if Leno hadn't made an error' comment. He is part of the team. It's like saying if our defender had made the tackle, or if our striker had scored his easy chance.

No.4 is redundant since the player Jorginho fouled shouldn’t have been on the pitch by your own logic. Luiz should have been off too
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ridiculous stuff. You're digging out excuses since you well know that you're lucky with a point let alone three points. I am not surprised the Premier League referees have been dreadful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So you're saying Gwendoozy shouldn't have been booked for pulling Abraham back in the box?

Should have been a 2nd yellow, penalty and then Gwendoozy's not on the pitch for Jorginho to foul!!

Just a fact. Tried to explain why we lost the game. It's my view and an answer to the OP's question.

The fouls/cards are irrelevant really. Overwhelming factor was the substitution. As soon as Ozil hard to work for it against resistance, he bailed on us as always and both control and momentum swung to Chelsea. Ref never sent Gwen off because he knew Ozil had already left us down to 10 men.
