MB on Eddie

MB on Eddie and being recalled (been attributed to MB):

“Yes, we know that he’s not going to continue with us. We are sorry for this.
It’s a pity for us, and of course for Arsenal and him, maybe he didn’t expect what we offer them. But we feel gratitude for him, the time he was with us.
He’s a great player, an excellent professional. He had very good behaviour.
A gentleman in every sense. We are grateful with him. Also to his family and his club, they developed Eddie with a very good education. For this reason
it’s a pity he leaves us because we were happy with him."

Did he really say this?

If so, is MB living in parallel universe or just plain old disingenuous?

I'm fine with Eddie going back. But, to talk now (after he's recalled)
like MB did about him above, and his time here, is ridiculous.

"It’s a pity for us" - Why? Because you have one less person to occupy the bench?

"maybe he didn’t expect what we offer them." - Regular football?

"He’s a great player, an excellent professional." - So why not play him then?

"it’s a pity he leaves us" - Really? Why exactly? You didn't adjust to his style.

It was never about Eddie the player. It was about spending time, money, and effort to secure what I/we thought was an MB sanctioned player who could
rotate with Bamford. And help us get out of this division. Clearly he was not.

I totally get that Bamford is the #1 option and the focal point of MB's
tactics. He showed it again today. But to say what he said above is bizarre. Totally disconnected from the reality of the first half of the season.

Just be honest. Orta & MB didn't see eye to eye on Eddie the player.
Or they both fooked up and brought in someone who clearly didn't fit the system. Just admit it and move on. And then get it right in the January window.
We need a rotational striker who can spell Bamford in the style that Bamford plays.

This political nicety crap is sh . 1 Te.

No actually start like that sometimes thinking more at home. Just to mix it up and not make the tactical plan for the opposition easy.

-----------

then I'll have to disagree with you there... I must admit I have said similar earlier on in the season.. but with hindsight, no, we must continue to play the way we are..

but when you're 0 - 0 vs Wigan at home with 15 to go for example, yeah, lets go two up top.. but that's the only scenario for me

The biggest difference to our ability to create is not a second striker. It's having a 10 in the middle.

When Pablo or Roberts is in the middle we are so much better. Due to injuries we are having to play Klich there for the second spell this season & he is an 8. He's not creative enough to play that role when the defence is so deep. We need him behind either Pablo or Roberts as much as possible. The fact that they are injured together is a huge loss and has really hurt against both Fulham & West Brom away.

Not sure what's being driven at here.

Nketiah wouldn't have arrived without MB's blessing. You can see the appeal. Young player itching for first team action that has plenty of potential.

The problem was our "system" is based on one striker that can play a traditional number 9 role roughing up the defence. Nketiah wasn't that type of player and wasn't better than Bamford.

As a result game time was limited.

As it stands Leeds United won't be seen as a good destination for players in a similar position viz a viz wanting game time.

Playing the game means we should be paying compliments etc particularly when the situation isn't of the player's making.

I don't think it'll make much difference either way. MB is too stubborn to change and I can't believe we'll find anyone suitable anyway.

I said yesterday, this whole post was a stupid Wum job.
Why are we still arguing? Eddie Nketiah is no longer a LUFC player. Let's all move on.

Things still look bloody brilliant.
