Losing mentality

Well after 23 defeats in 2019, we’ve started 2020 in the same way, another shiiiit performance and defeat to a bottom half side
We seem to have developed a habit of losing now which is very worrying and reminiscent of the 90s and early 2000s
A real losing mentality has arrived since last January, typified by abject away performances and a failure to even make a fist of the biggest match in our long history last June
I though Jose might begin to instil more of a winner mentality but we’ve reverted to type recently again
It was telling when he said a few weeks ago that defeat didn’t seem to make the players angry, only sad. That’s not the mark of winners, I want to see the players hurt by games like today but they don’t appear to be, they just jog around without a care in the world
Not sure Jose or any manager can sort this lot out

Manager, coaches and support staff have all been replaced, but we're still playing awful football.

So it all comes down to Levy. He let the squad stagnate. He let players run down contracts.
6-7 first team players need replacing, but I doubt we'll replace anyone in Jan.

Poor transfers in the summer hasn't helped either. Lo Celso looks bang average, Sessegnon brought in but was injured for 3 months - obviously still young and still has a lot of time to improve and N'Dombele looks like a right crock and I get the feeling he doesn't want to be here anyway.

Bad times... We've declined so quickly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The manager and support staff need to be given more than two months mate, he needs at least two full seasons to mould his own team. Patience is the key word now. The last project is finished, a new one is just starting. It will be a roller coaster ride for a bit, but I am sure at the end it will hopefully be very decent. Rome was not built in a day. Last season transfer business was criminally bad, need to put that to one side now, and start afresh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have full confidence in Jose and his staff.

The squad however... We need new faces in, and lots of them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Absolutley.

First Sandy blamed Poch and eventually got his way when he was sacked, now it has become clear the manager was not the problem, he wants rid of the players.

The people he should want rid of are ENIC.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not going to happen mate. How often in football does the owners change. Manager first, then players, then supporters, and finally the owners in that order are the first out of the door.

Sandy loves Levy more than Aurier though so no chance of that. Amazes me that someone can be that blinkered.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think Daniel Levy has done a really good job for the club. He has put the club on a financial footing that is the envy of many clubs, delivered a brilliant new stadium, that those like me that attend drool over as one of the best in world football. So I am not going to be digging out the Chairman. We should be thankful we have him.

Blaming ENIC lets the players off the hook.

Every week our team of household names is getting outfought and outplayed by a group of plodders. The level of effort in the team this season under Poch and Jose has been a disgrace.

They should all take plenty of personal responsibilty for that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Agree mate, to many of our players are getting a free ride. ENIC are not on the pitch, the players are.

ENIC do need to take some of the blame for the lack of silverware last 19 years. 1 trophy.
For a club that is the 11th richest in world football, and have our fan base and stature, that’s criminal underachievement

Every player at the club should have a price put on his head now. No players should be exempt. Need a completely new mentality, and over a period of time a new squad. No winners in the current squad.

Complete rebuild needed, I am a patient man.

Two months ago, you said Poch had a team of Internationals to work with, therefore José can do the same.

You won’t get an answer from him.

Is simple. We have absolutely no leaders in this team.

Whilst Celtic lost to Rangers and, for once got outplayed, I watched Scott Brown who spent the whole game shouting at and geeing up his team mates. His mentality is to win and not let his team mates just give up.

For those old enough will remember we once had the likes of Dave Mackey and Graham Roberts. No way these two would have put up with the spineless display yesterday. They would have been in team mates faces and dragged them up and forward.

Until we get players of that type, we will always fall away when the opposition even remotely turns up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------too busy backing the opposition.

I wouldn't mind us getting relegated. I had £10 on at 250/1, so stand to win two and a half grand. Every cloud and all that.
