Sing Happy Birthday at 7th Minute

Just saw this on FaceBook:

On Monday the 6th it would have been my beautiful nephew's (Toby Nye) 7th birthday but sadly after a long fight with the dreaded neuroblastoma he lost his battle a year ago on the 12th of January, he was a mad Leeds fan who was also a mascot for them and attended all matches he could.

I will not let my little warrior Toby be forgotten and will try everything to keep his name out there so I am asking if all Leeds fan can sing happy birthday to our little Leeds United angel on the 7th minute at the match on Monday.

Please help me make this happen and spread the word if you will, thanks everyone.💙💙💙

Footnote - Leeds captain, Liam Cooper took a special interest in Toby and was often seen carrying him around at Elland Road or visiting him at home and/or hospital.

I like to think Arsenal fans will be happy to contribute also.

This should be a private thing, we have nothing to do with this. Can you imagine how may people have gone thru thi, so what you're asking is ludicrous...Sorry Johnny but you are losing the plot...

Wow some really callous people on here.

You can not do it without saying people who have sympathy have "lost the plot". That's just going too far. Show some respect.

I didn’t think I even remotely hinted at posters targeting the poor kid, but my mistake if that’s how it came across.

No one is suggesting every time a child dies football matches should be used a ceremony, but this kid was a mascot for Leeds and as such he deserves the recognition at a football match featuring Lees.

That is one justification... another is that it is just a blooming nice thing to do

This is a private family matter and should be kept as such...

If any respect for anyone Leeds should be shown it should be for this Man!..

He should be shown as much respect but like I said, not every year!..

JohnnyLA, I apologise for saying that 'you lost the plot' - I just got carried away, and am sorry for this remark. It is just that I lost my Mum(92) not long ago and for me, I would not want to broadcast it on live TV and to the world, I'm sure your nephew's parents would prefer some privacy...It is fair just to mention it on this 606 blog but it should end here.

Ellando, I think Toby is the nephew and his family has nothing to do with Johnny, Johnny has found it on FaceBook and posted it!..

Apology accepted. As Lubo posted, I was just forwarding this.

I agree with those who opined that we should grieve privately. I lost my dad (94) in 2015, and it feels like my deep grief only just started to recede this past year.

I don't understand those who go on TV right after a personal tragedy.

That being said, this was a child who was embraced by the club during his fight against his illness and this is what his family asked for.

Participate if you agree, refrain if you don't but I don't think anyone should judge anyone else for their choice here, doesn't really harm anyone either way, does it?

My bad, it was Germany who pointed out I just forwarded this appeal.

Thank you to him, Lubo and others who spoke out. I truly respect everyone's opinion on this.

Johnny, just back from a Motörhead cover concert and want to say I know you ain't one for starting the argumentative crap!.

But, as much of the wet stuff that has pasted me by, I know there are people that will see it from both sides!..
