Few bits from the cup

So obviously you don’t want to go to overboard winning against a lower league side, but for me it was definitely the Phil Foden show yesterday. He needs to be getting more/regular games. Can’t remember who the quote is from now, but basically saying he should be hitting 20+ league games next season and if not he should be looking to move. I think that’s fair enough myself, we will see what happens.

I think they were made to look a bit better if only because despite naming a strong line up on paper - that was definitely a fitness exercise for several players, Aguero for one usually takes a few games to get back up to scratch after an injury. Great to see a few faces return and by the sounds of it we should see Laporte easing back in within the next few weeks.

Nice bit of positivity to see us into the new year. Hope to keep that feel good factor going as we visit Old Trafford in the week

Pep's easing Foden into David Silva's role.

Next season he'll be the 2nd midfielder on the team sheet after KdB.

Hopefully so, he’s obviously got the quality and just needs the experience now.

He should be an England regular for years to come.

Foden has played in 16 games this season. As the season has got older he has started more games also. Always felt this would be a big season for him. If you didn't know him, when he's on the ball you would mistake him for a player from Spain, with the way he moves the ball and his technique. Not many English players like him.

I hope so Boris. Blues have kept the faith with how he’s been used by Pep, it’s been a slow process but hopefully he keeps getting more and more game time. Was sublime yesterday

I felt sorry for Harwood-Bellis yesterday.

First career goal at the top level that was overshadowed by the shambles that is VAR.

Cant really blame var for that, more like shambles of a ref. Linesman didnt give it offside but mason decides its offside anyway.

3 minutes to decide if it was a goal or not.

It's taking all the passion out of the game.

Yeah you could tell Aguero didn’t want to celebrate his until they had decided whether Phil Fodens fingernails were offside or not
