5 clean sheets on the trot

In all comps. And today with our youth boys plus gomez.

The defence seems to be fully back up and running.

What an effort by this squad.

Williams for me been impressed when hes played I think he should be the understudy to Trent now. Gomez quality since day dot saw him at Charlton and im glad we won this game without Big virgil shows that we can win without him. I would also offer Lallana a new contract as well.

So when everyone was saying that we were lucky, we weren’t as good defensively and we were just getting by and it wouldn’t carry on.

We’ve got better?

Really would be something if we could use an academy player to cover the lad from the academy.

It’s not dissimilar to last season. We really ramped it up as the season progressed. If we can get anywhere near a repeat of the second half of last season, it really will be a stroll to the title....

And the CL as well. Two big ears on the trot plus the league will be an amazing season for us. I think we can do it.

I think we just about have the worst part of it over now.

We have one game per week for a little spell now and I think our first team will have gotten 9 days training not playing when we play spurs.

From here on in its the run in.

We've done nothing yet, we've just set ourselves up for the real business end of the season.

Last season we only had 4 draws in the entire run in and looked a bit tired in the West ham game which imo was the one that did the damage. Everton away and Utd away were always going to be tough.

Our season now will have I think a ruthless streak to it.

Indeed I was thinking in the summer we need to buy either a right back or left for cover but I might be speaking too soon but, I think in Williams we might have found him.

My view is strongly that anywhere that we can avoid wasting money we should. It'd be a terrible waste to go out and but a 50mil midfielder to replace lallana when grujic can come in and jones and play for example

Our midfield should be: Fabinho, grujic for no 6 (if this plan still works) henderson, windy, ox, keita, jones. and the old man milner. why spend there?

Then up front its salah, mane, firmino, minamino, origi. I would have to think hard about us buying a werner for 70mil there. 7.5mil bargain had already but then again shaqiri might well go too.

Then defence. Taa, williams, ki, no way you buy a RB there. CB, gomez, vvd, matip. Do you replace lovren? we will see.

Its all about a left full for me. No disrespect to the lad larouci but he's not a left full. and doesn't look at all suited to wanting to learn it. Lewis isn't good enough so that means we have a squad gap there.

People need to start waking up to the fact that we plan so far in advance that they may not see big signings often. I don't expect a massive summer at this point. Quite a full and well balanced squad there. One opportunity at LB for a young player to come in, maybe one at LCB but only if we think van den berg won't improve (he is very very young still)

I am hopeful now that cheslea's transfer ban is over they will forget this valuable lesson and go ruin the careers or several decent young players... again.

We basically will declare a 100mil profit again and will be able to build the anfield road stand out of our own funds.
