With us down to the bare bones in midfield and with reports we are looking at loan deals I personally think we should consider bringing back Bentaleb to the lane on loan. He had fallen out internally at Shalke and demoted to the second team last March apparently for failing to watch a league game whilst injured so hasn't played in the first team since. Reports have Palace and Milan now chasing his signature.

Unlike some of our midfield incumbents , he is good at manipulating the ball, good passer and not shy of putting his weight about. We are not going to get any top end players in January so I feel he would be a great shout. He is on a different level to Wanyama and Dier and only worry for me would be his match fitness but am sure he would have kept relatively fit.

With Levy's penny pinching, We will do well to bring in anyone decent in January which is a difficult market anyway.
You would think Bentaleb was worse than Dier they way its being dismissed on here.

The only midfielder we should consider bringing back is Dembele. Someone who can dominate a midfield and transition defence into attack quickly. He had it all apart from scoring goals. Sorely missed

I'd take Modric for the rest of the season. Even if he can only manage every-other game.
