Maguire hip injury

Looks like he’s going to be out for some time now

With Axel, Bailly and Smalling unavailable through either injury or loan that leaves us with the following first teamers

CB

Lindelof
Jones (till he’s injured in training this week)
Rojo

FB

Shaw
AWB
Williams
Young (till he apparently imminently goes)
Dalot

MF

Matic
Fred
Pereira
Mata
Lingard

AT

Rashford
Martial
James
Greenwood

Whatever you think of Ole, the state of the ‘fit’ squad right now is as bad as it’s ever been

I’d disagree this is the biggest rebuild in 30 years. It’s not even the biggest rebuild in five years, VAN gaal’s was the biggest in 30 years.

It’s just such a nonsensical point. What’s he meant to do, come out publicly and slag the club off? That worked well for Mourinho.

It’s not going to put the club under any more fan or media pressure to make signings than it already is. But it creates a clear conflict between the manager and club if he does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It really is a nonsensical point. But Robb is in full obsessed mode now, so he will take any opportunity to take a dig at Ole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Its not really a dig at Ole - more at Ed. But I’m sure we all realise that Ole’s days are numbered - he needs signings and if he doesn’t get them it’s likely to be all over and not before time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He isn't going anywhere Robb. Ed is under pressure. The last 3 managers were a failure. If Ole goes now what does that say about Ed? He needs Ole to be a success otherwise he is likely to get the boot too. So he will give Ole as much time as possible and I reckon he will back him in the market as and when the rights players are available.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re dreaming mate

Ole has made him look like a right mug with his bad he’s been. Ed has wanted Poch for some time and now he finally has a chance to get him - Ole’s results have been shocking and it’s only a matter of time before he gets jettisoned. Wouldn’t be surprised if negotiations with Poch are happening behind the scenes as we speak. Apart from the club legend thing, I really don’t know why any fans with a brain would actually resist Poch coming in now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not dreaming. I was just being as ridiculous as you to make a point. You haven't got a fecking clue what Ed is thinking and neither have I.

When did Ed tell you that he has wanted Poch for some time?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s been reported for quite some time. Back in 2015, back in 2018 and now. Maybe I’m wrong but the people that want Ole to stay are the huge minority and as long as a capable manager is available who apparently Ed loves don’t be surprised if the sacking lever is pulled any day now.

And us fans should celebrate when that happens
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lots of things get reported Robb. Do you believe it all?

I am not saying that he doesn't want Poch by the way, but you have this thing where you believe the stuff you want to believe, but discredit the stuff that doesn't suit. Unless it is being reported in The Times or the BBC, I take it with a pinch of salt. If they have reported our interest in Pch then fair enough

Yeah but I can admit I have an agenda against Maguire.

The difference is that I don’t try and twist everything to have a go at him. I don’t need to. But this is what you do with the manager. This yes man nonsense, for example, because he hasn’t come out and made public appeals.

Van Gaal didn’t, and neither did Mourinho, they started questioning things when they left, or were on the verge of leaving, respectively. And these are two of the most demanding managers the world has ever seen.

It’s such a dumb and pointless thing to even bring up. You’ve got plenty of other ammunition if you want to have a go at him, this is like a water pistol

———-

Maybe, it’s just an opinion. Luckily for the legitimacy of my Ole out opinion/agenda/psychic abilities, that opinion doesn’t form the backbone of why I want him gone

People forget Jose had to clear out a lot of deadwood too

Schneiderlin
Rooney
Bastian
Depay
Adnan
McNair

Every manager has to ship out people rather than call it this never ending rebuild. As you said in the summer just shipping out people and making the squad worse isn’t a rebuild.

I know it doesn’t, but it’s just a crap argument to bring up.

Ed will do want Ed wants and Ole hasn’t got a facking leg to stand on if he thinks otherwise. He has no power. And I wouldn’t be surprised it Ed is thinking of saving any January funds for the next manager in the summer anyway.

That’s not to say we definitely won’t sign anyone, but I certainly don’t think we’ll get the three signings we really need this January: a cf, am and cm/dm.

Yeah but Van Gaal had to rebuild a squad that 12 months earlier had walked the league title. Mourinho’s job, by comparison, wasn’t on the same scale. Hence why he didn’t make as many signings in his first transfer window as Van Gaal did.

Regardless of how well LVG done with this rebuild (not very well) it was still the biggest rebuild we’ve had to undertake.

Especially when you consider how far standards have fallen now. We’re rebuilding to just become a top four team. 12 months after winning the league I don’t think anyone was thinking that was the target with Van Gaal.

IUf Ole goes Ed must go too, or at least not be allowed appoint a manager, that would be 4 failed managers, well failed is a bit strong as some did win cups, but overall they've not reached the level expected of a united manager.

Yeah, every manager makes mistakes

LVG shouldn’t have gotten rid of Hernandez, Zaha and Evans!

Ed must go regardless of what happens with Ole. But he won’t because he’s too close to the Glazers.
