Morning All..... Not sure if this is true or whether anyone has any insight, but just heard Martin Lipton on Talk Sport saying that there's no excuse for Spurs not to make "much needed additions", given the injuries this window. He pointed out that post the debt refinancing announced last year, the debt refinancing on the stadium stands at 22mln GBP per year and that the revenue to playing cost ratio is the lowest in the Prem League. With that said & if those figures are true then not only could Spurs probably live without the CL for a year or 2 if the worst case scenario is realized but then there's no excuse for Spurs not to do something this window as the real negative would be our ability to retain our better players who might not fancy a year or 2 of the ropey or no Europe at all.
Of course, none of us believe a word that comes outta Levy's mouth but if reports of this Polish lad are true and a possible move for Barca's Samedo can be finalized then maybe our fears might be unfounded for this window especially if we can make some space in the squad by selling Eriksen & Jan, etc
Maybe, just maybe Levy's hand has been forced by these injuries and in Jose we might just have the right man, who unlike Poch wont come across as some yes man and will make serious demands of our miserly chairman
Like I said, I haven't looked into the financials but whether right players are out there or not isn't the point, what we do know from our time with Poch and now with Jose that what we currently have doesn't match the ambitions of our manager or most of us
We'll see
No Reason not to spend this window

OP
What decent players are ever available in January. I wouldn`t mind a bit spent, but be fair the players are just not available at this time of the year.
Panic buys would be of absolute no use at all to the club, and would in all probability be just sticking plaster, when major surgery is needed. Spending lots now would be just a waste of money. I prefer to wait until the Summer, and do some proper business.

We are panicking if we don't buy. It's going to be better taking a risk on new players than the even riskier idea of not doing anything with what we've got right now. Basically, how could we be made any worse by going for "panic buys"?

Get a loan deal now... ie Giroud, Batshuyai...etc..
Go all out for Timo Werner in the Summer

not looking like we will get rid of anyone so doubt there will be any signings

Eriksen, Wanyama, KWP, Vertonghen, Rose ASAP need to go
LCB, RB, LB, DM and ST brought in
impossible this month
we are bailing out trying for loans as we have our main goalscorer and only striker out and limited numbers in midfield. its embarrassing.

You seriously think Chelsea will strengthen one of their rivals for top 4?
Werner wants to play every game. That will never happen when Kane is fit.

Get Kane fit for the Euros, let him score a few goals and pens, increase his value and sell for £150M+ to Real. Use the money to strengthen other areas. No player is bigger than the club. Even when he has bad game for us he never gets subbed and continues to try and take on defender without any pace. Great player and will be missed but we can move on without him like we did when we got the champions league final without him.

We also moved on after Bale & Modric to create the best side we have had in a generation..... Nothing last for forever

Unfortunately when we build an entire squad around one guy & put him on a pedestal in terms of his role and what we pay him its basically impossible to move forward as a club until you cash out on him. There's no balance at Spurs... Pep was 1000% right we he called us Harry Kane FC

People considering selling Kane want their heads looking at, world class centre forwards are like gold dust and we have one that guarantees 25 goals a season (when fit). Not to mention he is the England captain and extremely marketable, a Spurs lad and wanted by every club in the world.
You don`t sell your proven top class players until they are way past their best, you buy more top class players, add them to the squad and build a team capable of challenging on all fronts.
Obviously, if we expect our profit before glory owners to operate in this way, sadly we will be left disappointed.

If a stupid bid comes in for Kane, it would be silly not to sell. He’s not as good as he was 2 or 3 seasons ago and he’s become injury prone
