The Joker

Thought it was excellent except for the last twenty minutes, when he goes on the TV interview (which I won't spoil). From then on it's super predictable I thought and it made the film quite uninteresting for me overall. The final therapy session as well was pointless.

Also, the scene with the little person trying to escape but can't reach the lock - my audience viewing were raucous with laughter despite the violence that literally precludes that scene which just cemented in my mind that people were watching it for the violence and style, rather the character study.

I felt the opposite, 1st hour was boring imo, after the train ride, it got interesting.
i'll give it a 7/10.

I really enjoyed it, but the character of the joker, I felt wasn't something you could then turn into a nemesis criminal mastermind. He was too broken for that.

Unreliable narrator...

it's a mess.

typical DC universe.

you cannot go from the guy who brutally shot Bruce Wayne's parents to this load of muck and then either go end up like the Jack Nicholson cartoon joker or the masterpiece that was heath ledger's joker.

it is just the usual. oh someone did mental health it must be an oscar rubbish.

Thought it was brilliant, especially as more of a stand alone take on the whole thing.

I imagine people really into all these full action comic films might struggle with it as it's quite far removed from that.

I've watched the Dark Knight again (not long after the Joker) and somehow Ledgers brilliant performance doesn't feel quite as chilling now.
