Ole is happy

There we go

Ole is happy with the squad, could never go out and sigm players as a short term fix and is more concerned with 18 months down the road than short term.

He is also still doing due diligence on targets.

Im sorry guys, but Ole is delusional if he thinks he can carry on at this rate and get a 2nd season.

What is unrealistic is to think it can be done in a window. If Mata goes is there a ready made replacement, who is better, available, wants to come to us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mata has never nailed down a place, often playing out wide, where his lack of pace has been a big issue. You therefore dont go like for like. You buy what you need.

Out - Young, Jones, Bailly, Mata

In - CM, AM, CF

4 out, 3 in, not.like for like but address the inbalancenwithinnthe current squad.

But he didn't say specifically go like for like... Everyone knows our squad is unbalanced and we should be buying what we need

We're paying the price for a few years of different managers adding a few players at a time to try and play in different styles... We're a mess of a squad

Agreed Shugs. It is a mess of a squad. I don't believe it is at all easy to do quickly, finding the right players that are available, that we can buy. Off loading the ones we don't want that are under contract, will all take time. And we need to get it right.

He said is there a ready made replacement. Now, he either means are there players available (of course there are) or he meant Is there a similar player available (like for like)

Very nitpicking RDD.

When I say a replacement I mean a creative forward, preferably one who plays centrally as Mata would have preferred.

I don't know who is available we can buy who is better than him. There maybe six or none for all I know. But rushing out to buy one that won't fit what we are trying to do isn't the answer. We need youngish players, who want to play for us, have the right character, and are achievable.

He should list all the available attacking midfielders or wingers he thinks are available and suitable

No he didn't specify like for like... A suitable ready made replacement could mean a number 10 or a winger ...both roles Mata has filled and both roles we could do with buying a player for

So it's not strictly like for like... But what we need... Like you have already said is the approach needed

No need to look for an argument that isn't there
