Deadwood

One of the reasons Ole has received plaudits this year is his ability to change tactics with substitutions at the critical times.

Joking, of course.

As the title suggests, it’s about the deadwood he’s gotten rid of. Although I see Rojo and Jones are still floating around. As well as Young and a few others.

But the argument goes: he got rid of Lukaku and Sanchez. Very true. But did he really want to get rid of them?

Or was it them that wanted to leave once they heard Ole was manager? I have a feeling that was the reason.

So did he get rid of deadwood, or is the fact Lukaku and Sanchez left, just another stick to beat Ole with.

I know we needed rid, I wanted rid, but can he really take the credit?

EDIT: Forgot about Herrera as well. PSG or Ole’s United. He didn’t take too much to the latter project, maybe?

I gotta say, I’ve seen many people get stuck on here even when posting good stuff

RDD is one of them posters. He has done some foolish stuff in the past, but does raise some valid debate.

Reminds me of stretty

I sometimes wonder if it is stretty, but that’s about as negative as I go with RDD.

Each to their own I say.

Cheers lad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

People calling for en-mass filtering is one of the most pathetic things I’ve seen on here.

Not naming names, as it’s easy to get swept by the crowd, but imagine that scenario in real life?

You’re talking to someone and someone else is telling the whole group to ignore you???

Fckin mental.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, the problem is that I can imagine real world scenarios when that might happen and might be justified

I won’t judge him against his peers, because his peers are also freely-speculating clickbait merchants.

I will judge him against the truth, and I will judge him against the best standards in journalism - because that’s how I understand he wants to be considered, as a journalist - and I will decide that against both measures, he isn’t worth listening to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

All of his peers are click bait merchants? Such a massive generalisation can only be considered boll0cks!

He's not taking about all journos. You obviously missed the bit where he mentioned the best standards of journalism. Di Marzio and his peers do not operate at that level.

Just to add to the reason for Young not playing, the deal for Fernandes could be playing a role. It may be that we are willing to let Young leave in the Jan window as long as we don't lose anyone else in the fullback positions. Sporting are said to want Rojo as part of any deal, so the decision on Young could hinge on what happens with the Fernandes negotiations.

Another generalisation and without evidence, your hypocrisy is amazing. It’s pure speculation, like claiming Young is purposefully not playing because he wants to go to Inter πŸ€”

How many peers of his can you count? Allll of them don’t have good standards?

JA606 is one of the weirdest bubbles when it come to football forums, the consensus just doesn’t apply here at all.

Football ‘journalists’ in general, yes.

There have been numerous studies done on the veracity of transfer reports across the print and online press.

The best sources consistently appear to be the broadsheet papers, which still have a success rate of around a third. Tabloid and online sources do well to hit the mark one fifth of the time.

Can you imagine if the same standards applied to journalists in current affairs, politics, finance, etc?

The whole sub-industry is a complete and utter sham and exists only to sell newspapers and generate clicks. It is a commercial endeavour only.

Well nobody, clearly, because one is journalism and the other is advertising strategy.
