Tanganga - what next for Clownier ?

I don’t care what anyone says, I frigging love the nickname “Clownier" from Spurtle so I’m using it. Anyway, with Tanganga occupying the Right back position last night and looking bloody rapid, do we integrate him into that position ? Or do we draft him there when need be, but use him in his natural position centre back ? Not sure what Mourinho will do, but I’m glad Mourinho has shown faith in him because he’s a shining light on what’s been a s** few months of form for us. If so, will we finally see Clownier out the team ? Hopefully there’s a god somewhere up there. Not sure I can take anymore of his erratic moments anymore stinking up that right back spot. Don, I like Tanganga a lot, but no way will he take Auriers place, more likely to partner Tanganga with Sanchez as our number one CBs pairing. I have said before both Toby and Verts are more or less on their last legs now. Both been good servants, but nothing last forever. Jose will be looking at younger players. And rightly so. I can see a great partnership between Sanchez and Tanganga developing.

Aurier is still Spurs best right back, and good for Jose he sees it as well. I am glad Joe is picking the team and not some on JA606.

Don

Glad you're having fun with the name

I'd be happy to see Tanganga get that position more regularly, as I can't honestly see another RB come in this month and he can't be much worse than Aurier. I liked hearing his post-match interview yesterday, he seemed very grateful for the opportunity and for that reason I believe he'd put in more effort than Aurier.

Plus he's English and I would like to see us retain some Englishness in the side.

No more fancy names or hairstyles.
Pure English. Chaps called Wilf or Cliff or Cyril. Side partings.

What about Horace, Hubert and Marmaduke?

Such an over reaction to Aurier. Similar to Sissoko and Rose in years gone by.

Ridiculous with our so called supporters on this site, most who never even go to WHL, unless the club are on a roll. The way they dig out players is unbelievable.

OK, I was not a great fan of Trippier, and I was proved right, the club let him go.

I don't like that name for Tanganga at all. Sounds like Clownshoes for Son.
Tanganga reminds me a lot of the great Ledley King, who BTW seems to be doing some of the coaching now,....so why not "Kingley"?

Tanganga now legitimately allows us to have a back 5 or back 4

Jose likes to play 3 CBs and a wingback

Sessegnon or Aurier will be the wing back in a back 4 or they both can play in a back 5.

Either way, Tanganga has given us a huge boost in defensive options.

Sessegnon also looking good at left back. He is getting more aggressive and better in the closing down of opposition.

To play a back 5 your full backs still need to defend something aurier and sessegnon dont like doing, and a proper midfield something spurs do not have

Yeah - Spurs' "back 5" is actually just a standard back 4 with Tanganga at RB and Aurier playing RW.

looks likely if we sign another player this month it'll be a striker on loan

LB,RB,CB and DM essential in the summer if we want any hope of being back in the top 4 again in the coming seasons
