King to Huddersfield

The latest in a line of loan moves that Andy King doesn't really want is Huddersfield Town.
Currently hovering above the Championship relegation zone and perhaps in need of a further boost, I hope that he can stay fit, get some game time and help to push them up the table.

Decent club, Huddersfield. Maybe this could be the one that he might eye for a permanent move and a place to spend the twilight of his career?

Poor guy and hope he signs permanently somewhere?
Pilar to post at the most!

With all due respect, and from my point of view, I don't want him either. He's 31,had good career, obviously he wasn't good enough to get into a good Rangers team in a tin pot league.

Town, on the other hand are desperate. We went down from the Premier league, paid off our old chairman what he had previously put into the club (£50+ million), recruited some of the worst players to ever grace the blue and white stripes EVER, and end up scraping the barrel for players.

We're in deep sh¡t, the P. E teachers that we have in charge seem somewhat out of their depth and a second relegation could quite easily happen. We now have a new chairman, that's apparently skint, we have £40+ million quids worth of players that don't want to play for us, so they languish in the reserves. Kongolo, our top defender and record signing went out on loan to Fulham yesterday, so yes, apologies for my negative outlook on Mr King, but it doesn't bode well for us.

Cheers

It depends which Kingy turns up, if it's the competent lower league midfielder who if played in an attacking role is actually a very good finisher capable of getting goals then you'll have an excellent addition to the squad.

If he's the guy who can sometimes seem pretty anonymous and not involved in the game, or he's struggling with fitness then not so much.

I have very fond memories of what he's done for us over a very long journey so absolutely wish him all the best. Also I hope Huddersfield take back their rightful place as Yorkshire's top club, or at the very least get above Leeds - although that doesn't look like happening anytime soon (I have this outlook as one of my colleagues is a Terriers/Giants fan and I enjoy our discussions including Yorkshire football politics).

hydy - I think the big potential problem with this loan move is that King has never looked like he wants to play for anyone other than Leicester City.

That said, he must he at the point of realisation now that he's not going to get back into this Leicester team. Both the current manager and the previous manager haven't been interested, even as a reserve.

Huddersfield strikes me as the kind of club where he might be able to apply himself however. It's not too far away from home, but isn't a local rival. I notice that Danny Simpson welcomed him in, and (from a distance) he seems to have been performing well enough for you.

It does sound like a mess from the way you describe it though, and not the greatest of atmospheres for any new signing to step into. Quite why the old chairman should get his £50m back, I don't know, yet it seems that kind of thing happens a lot these days. If I owned a football club then I'd be accepting that sort of thing as a loss. But perhaps that's one reason among many why I'm not rich.

Theoretically King has everything needed to thrive at a Championship club. Even one that is top half of the table. He could do well there, but doesn’t seem to have done well anywhere much since he started going out on loan.

If Huddersfield see him at his worse then they needn’t worry. They won’t even notice that they’ve got him.

He can't be any worse than what we've got tbh.
