Recruitment Will Cost Us !!

So halfway through January and still no striker, yes supposedly we are signing another total unknown Tanzanian striker from you guessed it Belgium. You really have to question our recruitment in the summer and probably this January. I doubt these are really Dean Smiths signings, but infact the work of the guy he calls SUSO .. This guy will ultimately get us relegated with the frankly awful players he has bought to the club. Many of them are clearly not good enough for this league, bought in on huge money and wages. The future to me is not bright and Brighton away today will be another huge test. It will probably be the man we chose not to sign who will score the winner today in Maupay !! Suso must go !

Don't think we could have done a lot else in the summer. We had to rebuild, massively. We tried to mix quality and numbers, while recognising that however we did it this season was going to be tough. We were doing OK until December. Injuries to key players then hit us hard; McGinn, Heaton, Wesley, and for a time Mings. And it didn't cost huge money and wages; we bought a lot of bargains as well as a few marque signings like Mings and Heaton, and the Mirror has us with the 2nd lowest wage bill in the PL.

The Tanzanian striker on paper looks promising. He's fast, scores goals, creates for other, but also he's captain for Genk (who won the Belgium PL last season) and Tanzania which means he could be the leader we need up front. We'll see.

We're definitely hanging on to the PL by our finger-tips, and it doesn't get any easier. But it's hard for other teams as well.

Express and Star saying Kodja gone?

Looks like it. Kodj had a great first year with us, probably saved Bruce's bacon, scored 19 goals if I remember correctly. His injury was a massive blow to him and us. Not really used by Bruce or Smith when he came back, so don't know what he could have done. Hope it goes well for him.

Yipee! Stole it from Watford. We have a chance yet. Hope Samatta settles in quickly. Bournemouth is critical.
