Klopp only sold one top player right (Coutinho)?

That comment wasn't meant as a Klopp v Pep debate but to say Pep only succeeded because he spent truck loads of cash completely ignores his time at Barca, which is really where he made his name.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It makes me laugh how the Coutinho money has supposedly covered every transfer Liverpool have made over the last few years according to Liverpool fans.

The reality is their club has spent plenty of money to get to where they are now. Not knocking it, but let’s accept reality please.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Coutinho money £142m

VVD £75m
Alisson £66m
£141m

Re sit your maths GCSE...........again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fabinho
Salah
Robertson
Mane
Minamino
Shaqiri
Keita
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where's the list for players sold?

Solanke 20m
Ibe 20m
Ings 22m
Sakhi 25m
Benteke 32m
Coutinho 142m
Stewart 8m
Lucas 5m
Wisdom 5m
Ward 12m
Camacho 7m
Mignolet 8m
Kent 8m
Duncan 1.8m
Allan 3.2m
Alberto 6m
Smith 6m
Skrtel 5.5m
Canos 4m

Just to mention but a few.

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

I am not denying he ain't a good manager. As long as you give him the cheque book he will create an awesome team. But so can nearly most of the other top managers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's because he needs top players to play the way he wants his teams to, everyone including the keeper needs to be quality on the ball and be adept at playing in tight spaces.

Really would be interesting to see him at a club who couldn't fund that level of player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No he doesn’t, he needs players with certain characteristics. That’s why he was fine with using Delph and then Zinchenko as left backs.

He needs top players to win multiple trophies, as every manager does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair point but like in midfled particularly he needs a real level of quality, nothing wrong with that though it's just many players couldn't do it to the level he wants them to, have to be a super technicall footballer. Like would Henderson thrive under pep like he does under Klopp?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No, but then there’s other players that wouldn’t thrive under Klopp. That’s the same for any coach.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like who?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of our midfield for a start. I think people forget that when Guardiola took over, everyone said De Bruyne and Silva were an either or and no one thought he’d play them both in centre midfield, where neither of them were playing. Guardiola has got the max out of both of them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah bit would he do the same with Hendo and Wij?

I think he'd just sell them and spend 300m on a new midfield.

Edwards is the best man in the business for transfers

I read an article where it showed that only 50% signings for premiership clubs become 1st team players

Edwards and Klopp have done an extraordinary job. Most signings are hits.

He’s a modern day Mourinho. Will throw his toys out the pram and bugga off to the next oil rich club
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or, to stay in City terms, he will Bunga Bunga off to the next oil rich club

I don’t, both of those could play the Fernandinho or the Gundogan role in our current setup. They’d both suit the set up he had for his midfield at Bayern too, which was more similar to how you currently play than the way we do.

To be fair the only player we've signed that I've heard City being interested in was VVD. Didnt really need a scouting database for that one. Although we did sign Karius after you let him go, perhaps you guys threw that one in there to catch us out.

Why would you need to see if Klopp could do well at a less well funded team?...that's like asking if the world's best striker could promote a team from the fourth division.

Players and managers progress Klopp doesn't have to prove anything to anyone.
