now we really do need an upgrade!
I see yet again on the social media platforms that Willian is rubbish and should he have been sold years ago.
The total lack of understanding of all the good things he brings to the team is utterly dumbfounding. And the fact that a poor performance from him yesterday means, according to the social media mob, that he has been poor all season, just underlines their bias and ignorance.
However, there can be no dispute that he has never and never will score enough goals. And the fact is, this current Chelsea team really needs more goals from its attacking players.The goal scoring burden on a young and less experienced Tammy is far too great. This team simply can't afford to carry attacking players that dont score many goals.
So for different reasons to those of the mob, I do now think it is time to find a goal scoring replacement for Willian. I have serious doubts however, that this can be achieved before the end of this season.

Oh... we love a scapegoat. True, he had a poor game yesterday by the standards he set this season. Our problem is that we don’t have players that can take the game by the scruff of the neck, that can unlock defences, against teams that defend in low blocks.
Willian is still useful to this team, but, he is no Hazard who’d more often than not come up with goods in this type of games.
Anyone expecting that our talented young players would be anything but inconsistent? As good as they have been this season, at the same time they’re often guilty of not being clinical in front of the goal. They’re still a work in progress, a trade they will learn, and hopefully will develop into players that everyone expects to be.
Patience rather than knee jerk reaction is required.

He was terrible yesterday but has been our best player at times this season.
I’d give Willian a new contract and look to replace Pedro. Whilst not forgetting we have Pul.

I think it's time to replace Willian as a starter. But I will always be grateful (ironically) for the 2015/16 season.
