On the slide

4 defeats in the last 6 games. We all know it - this is a team on the slide. The wheels are starting to come off and have been doing over a period of weeks. This is an alarming run of form for Leicester - after a brief respite after the festive period, the foxes are being found out

Why? Because Brendan Rodgers has one way of playing. To try and swamp the opposition, to flat track bully them. If everyone is on top of their game, it works brilliantly. But this is a team of kids who are struggling for consistency and right now, they are struggling for form. What’s not helping is that Rodgers has no plan B - either in terms of squad depth or in terms of another way of playing.

Attacking wise we have all but run out of ideas. Barnes, aside from the goal today, has been hopeless - wasting final ball after final ball. Perez has so far been a total flop. Tielemans form has deserted him, Maddison is struggling. On top of that, the N’didi injury has killed us - basically we were always too reliant on him

With Leicester looking like making no moves in the January window, our goal really needs to be keeping a top 6 place - because this isn’t and has never been a top 4 side. Despite that, throwing away such an attractive position in the league will I’m sure be viewed by Leicester as a golden opportunity wasted in years to come

What’s all this subtext about Chilwell about?

Missing a training session and undertones of attitude issues in Rodger’s interview.

“We need to pick players we can trust” to me seems as strong as statement you can make without hanging a player out to dry?

Anything in it do we think?

It’s Chilwell and Choudhury - both missed a training session apparently

Can’t just end there though BS as that raises many questions.

The main one is - why did they miss the session?!

Rumours are they turned up to training drunk.

They’re kids, probably one of those disciplinary things

Well, that is something I would never have done at their age....

... but if true, it’s very very poor judgement from Chilwell who has been massively out of form. What he needs is to knuckle down and work through it with the team, otherwise he’ll turn out more Danny Drinkwater than he would like.

Hopefully the coaching staff can work with him to get him past whatever he’s going through at the minute.

And as for Hamza Mersey? He didn’t even travel with the squad

I'm seeing all sorts of different rumours, to the extent that I suspect nobody knows anything.

The most I can piece together is that Chilwell was effectively taking his punishment on Sunday with Rodgers not wanting to make a big thing of it. As for Hamza, who knows.

We'll just have to wait and see whether both or either get back into the side for Wednesday.

Maybe trying to forget their recent performances?

Same questions, just less impactful if Choudhury isn’t available as he’s not been as close to the first team.
