Does anybody else miss match of the day ?

In our glory years and before I used to love Match of the Day that warm feeling after another significant victory to be relived in all it’s reflected glory in snap shot action later.

These days it seems like most of the time I just avoid it as our underwhelming club sinks further into obscurity after another expected defeat, we cling to small positives like Fred could actually be Brazilian and after all and Shaw can play a decent match but mostly I’m scanning discovery Chanel for Ancient Aliens to numb the pain

when I was a kid MOTD only had 2 games televised highlights and Granada had one local game (usually Blackburn v Preston) on Sunday Kick Off with Gerald Sinstadt

If you lived in the In the Granada are and stuck in a portable Ariel you could pick up HTV Wales who offen had a different match on sometimes United early attempts at streaming

I heard that before that you could pick up HTV. Never tried it from our mam's house in South M/C. Wrexham vs whoever didn't really appeal though

I’ve not watched MOTD in ages. Just can’t be asked anymore. Watching us playing clueless football for 90 min is bad enough but then highlights and pundits just talking about how bad we are. Nah I’ll pass.

We used to be able to get live 3pm PL kickoffs in the mid 90s in Ireland, courtesy of RTE. Have a vague recollection of cheering a late Steve Watson winner against Liverpool for Newcastle live on RTE 2

They used to show matches from a different ITV region so it could be Liverpool in Granada and us away on HTV away at Arsenal for example

Stuart Hall. LOL. The Belgums are coming!

BBC NorthWest news reader and convicted peado.

The MEN Pink was always in the toffee shop before we got home from the game. Convinced they made up the results.

In fairness, Stuart Hall's football reports on Radio 5 were legendary.

And yet if you'd watched only a few days ago Bumble you would have seen a 4-0 win. Pity you missed it.

I did watch it, but I didn’t watch it on MOTD. Big whoop we won 4-0 against Norwich. Are we going to release a netflix documentary of our 4-0 win against the mighty Norwich. Outlining the hard work gone into this victory.
