my take.. for what its worth

this season has split the fans on here.

you have the likes of RDD, Robb, United we win and a few others constantly posting their Ole out articles boring the life out of everyone.. i mean seriously, how many different ways can you say the same thing?

I was listening to Roy Keane after the game last night and he was definitely advocating Ole being given at least one season more, and i agree with him.

chopping and changing managers will never improve the chances of gaining a playing style or identity as weve seen over the last 7 years.... How many players signed by LVG (especially) and Jose have actually lasted at the club?

the likes of Depay, Di Maria, Scheiderlin all moved on after a couple of seasons as they werent deemed the right players to fit the following managers style.

looking at the league table we have lost only 2 more games than man city this season, but drawing 4 more which is where we seem to be having an issue.

having said that, taking into account how long pep and ole have been in their positions, squads, the structures of the two clubs and injuries throughout the season, you have have to ask yourself... who is actually having the worst season out of the 2?

one thing yesterday did show, despite the gulf in the class, the desire is still there from the players and thats one thing that could get Ole the time he, in my opinion deserves.

there have been quite a few positives also.

the emergence of players like williams and greenwood and the improvements from Mctom and Fred ( who i thought was superb yesterfay all things considered) along with Rashford can only bode well going forward.

will be interesting to see if Ed can get any deals done, but the guy is quickly running out of time.
from Ole's interview after the game it suggests that plans are already in place for the summer in regards to who he wants, with suggestions the club could be looking at some short term loan deals to get us through the next couple of months.

certainly looks like regardless of where we finish the club are looking at the bigger picture moving forward.

The state Mourinho left us in is overstated by people that have blind support of Ole.

The squad Jose left us was better than the one LVG left us. The difference was that Mourinho improved the team, squad and results when he took over. Whereas Ole made the has made the team, squad and results worse. So by comparison it looks like Mourinho left the worse team, but it completely ignores that Mourinho was doing a better job.

It’s bizarre people can’t see this. Jose is a convenient boogeyman I guess.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mourinho is certainly culpable for issues in the squad. But the the longer that Ole’s been in the job, the worse this squad has become in the eyes of many. Usually the ones that slated Mourinho for failing to get much the same squad competing with City when they got 100 points.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The squad has got worse because Ole has got rid of several players and is still getting rid of others, and is taking his time to replace them.

It’s not difficult to see the difference between the current approach and Jose’s surely?

Appreciate it’s difficult for some of the idiots that use our board but you can see it I’m sure.

That’s bad management.

That’s bad management.

Why?

Because he’s left himself completely unprepared for the season. Which has short and long term implications not just for the future of the team, but for his own job.

But regardless, the point to begin with was that Jose left a worse team than Van Gaal did, which isn’t the case.

Well that wasn’t the point that I was replying to.

But I don’t agree. The nature of the task means that it was almost guaranteed that the squad would get worse before it got better.

Clearly you’re not here for a mature discussion so I’ll leave you to it. Thought you were better than that tbh.
