With Eric Bailly getting back to fitness, is it time to keep the "iceman" on the bench.
For me he is too soft and the partnership with Harry wont take us to the top.
In other news, Lisbon and utd are close to an agreement on bruno.
Need a striker in as well.
Be positive, United will take its rightful place again
Lindelof

The problem with Smalling is he couldn't keep his hands to himself in the area. And with Var coming in that could have been a problem
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Has Smalling actually been penalised for this in Serie A, which has VAR?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Give him time, he’s still learning how to grapple in Italian.

Bef we signed Maguire we knew his attributes and failings. He is the Bruce or Vidic of a partnership, and needs a Rio or Pally next to him.
Whether Tzuanabe or Bailly can fill that role I don't know.

See what you’re saying but wasn’t his passing etc touted as well?

Rio is the last man I'd choose to compare with Bailly. If anything he's closer to Phil Jones than anyone

That’s a bit harsh on Bailly. Rio was calm and composed, and Bailly —
Sorry, yes. You’re right.

Yes Clockwork you're right, and it is decent, he doesn't often give it away or ju aiml hoof it up field. But he is slow so needs someone different next to him

I'm not saying Bailly is the man, I've not seen enough to know if he could play that role. But clearly not.
Tzuanabe?

We need a CB to play alongside him. Smalling could work, Maguire is good on the ball and Smalling covers very well.

Said it in the summer: my worry wasn’t so much the price as that we would need to find his partner. Solskjaer seems to rate Lindelof but that never looked the right combination to me.

Maguire is good on the ball

Supposedly.
If we wanted a CB who's not very mobile and could pass the ball, we could've just looked at somebody like Hummels or Boateng who are on a whole other level compared to Maguire when it comes to distribution.
