Regardless what you may think of his quality and ability, there's no denying his commitment to the team or determination to be/become better. Granit Xhaka has played his heart out when many others would have happily left in disgrace. This is clearly about more than a pay cheque to him, he gives a damn what Arsenal fans think.
Personally I thought he had very right to tell the fans booing him to feck off at the time. He got scapegoated for a lot that was nothing to do with him. Regardless of your thoughts on that incident, there's no doubt he wants to fight for this club. Even if you still want him sold, he deserves the respect of every single Arsenal fan. He's earned it.

Only thing Ozil done tonight was lend more weight to the case of giving Ceballos a run of games.

I think mustafi has same amount of assists as ozil now, and played 9 less games

The Liverpool keeper now has as many assists as Ozil after he punted the ball up to Salah for their second goal against United.

No doubt Xhaka deserves credit for the way he's fought back, he deserves some love from the fans.
He's still not a top class midfielder and will never be but he clearly cares and that matters. I hope it continues for him

Assists can be a bit of a misleading stat as a lot of it depends on your team taking the chance, I wonder what ozils chances created is, probably a bit more telling, but I imagine it’s low. However either way he should be having more assists, as that is his job in the team.
I’m not convinced he’s turned any corner under Arteta yet, he runs more but not in the right way, it’s like he does it just to get his numbers up, it’s not really contributing. He floats around too much and doesn’t demand the ball when he’s needed. He’ll have 1 or 2 decent games, but it’s not enough to convince me he should be a starter each week. I’d like to see ceballos given a chance under Arteta now

Ozil created next to no chances either. Others missing the strike after some Ozil magic, not been happening. And hell yeah he just runs to get his stats up. He's nearly always one of the highest distance covered players. But he's always running on the fringe of play. Rarely actually involved. When pressing, runs to attacker but doesn't put a foot in, leaving him time to play the ball. As he plays the ball, Ozil peels off and follows it. Same thing at the next man. Players read his body language and know he isn't going to tackle them. Each one just plays the ball and he chases it but because he does it with no commitment, he never gets to the attacker in time.
What you end up with is him just running a massive rectangle in the middle of the pitch. Looking busy all game but actually doing, nothing all. It's been that constant, there's no way in hell it's an accident. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing. We REALLY need Arteta to pick up on it and put and end to this Ozil debacle once and for all.

Could be said for pretty much every game he has played in, for the last two years. Unfortunately though, a large section of the Arsenal fan base simply refuses to acknowledge that fact. Due to it meaning far too much loss of face on their part. He's only still here because unfortunately the club's boo-boys all double up as Ozil fanboys also.
Hence a man whom SHOULD have been booed away 4 years ago. Instead got a fat pay rise and been allowed to polluted the team with his apathy for 4 detrimental years. All that because they can't just admit he's sh!t and move on, to go find a player WORTHY of the adoration and praise they've wasted on Ozil.

A very unusual and spirited performance by the Gunners, some Chelsea fans are really pissed-off that it was against them! It would really have been fun if Arsenal had grabbed a third goal in extra time.
Having said this, David Luiz should be sent packing for his stupid foul yesterday. His co-conspirator Leno once again raises concerns by his uncertainty on that play. Leno is also a liability when it comes to high balls in the penalty area!

Leno can't read the flight of the ball for sh!t, might need a trip to specsavers or something. No real confidence to come for a ball either. Although the goal was Mustafi's fault primarily. Watching the replay I can't help but think Leno SHOULD have read that and got there to clear. He hesitated and was slow in coming. Better read and faster reaction and he's hoofing that up the pitch then balling out Mustafi.
Downside of the bubbachups keeper unfortunately, he'll grow out of it. I still think he's an excellent keeper. Has certainly kept us in some games and kept the scoreline respectable in losses. Even when the defence would have seen us concede about 6

Yup, sadly Özil is just not doing nearly enough in the final third to justify us carrying him the rest of the time.
