The negotiations for Fernandes are still ongoing, but I believe that we will get the deal over the line eventually. Assuming that we do, I think that Cavani could prove pivotal for who secures the top 4 spot.
Rashford's injury has left us short and we obviously need a striker. Chelsea were already looking for a forward before last night, in which Abraham was helped off the pitch at the end of the game with an ankle injury.
Both Chelsea and United have been linked with a move for Cavani, who has handed in an official transfer request. Should either team manage to secure his services then it would give them a huge boost in the race for top 4.
PSG apparently aren't open to a loan deal and would want a decent fee to sell Cavani in Janaury. I reckon £20m or so would do it. If we could get him on an 18 month contract then I would take him. Any more than that and I think it would be too long (he will be 33 in 3 weeks).
