Transfer Window

The plan was to bring in 3 players.

1. Cover for Meslier if Casilla gets a ban.
2. Replacement for Clarke.
3. Replacement for Eddie if he gets recalled, which obviously he was.

The club have managed to tick each player off the list successfully.

The keeper is clearly not expected to have to play. and is there for the future and just in case for now. Hopefully we won't know if this has been a success or not for a few years because we won't need him.

I don't see how Poveda can do any less than Clarke. We didn't need Clarke. Hopefully won't need Poveda. I would expect him to be significantly better than Clarke was in the end. At least the player Clarke was when he came on against Villa for example. Otherwise what's the point when we have Stevens to develop? If he is an improvement, which it's suggested he has the talent to be, then cracking.

As for the striker, we really have been ambitious with our targets. Would have preferred Adams and so would Bielsa. But I think the club managed the risk spot on. They pushed the Adams deal as far as they could, while working on alternatives in the background. And settled on Bielsa's preferred second option. This despite Orta's caution to going abroad in January. I like that the final decision comes from Bielsa. I expected the replacement for Eddie to be someone to play second fiddle to Bamford, but the players we bid for were players to push Bamford out of the side and that's exactly what we need.

What's pleasing is that the club clearly had a plan and they've made it work.

Will never get all your number 1 targets but make sure you get the players you need.

I would love a couple more, Bowen and this French centre half would be ideal. But we are a Championship club and no one is doing big business. Only Fulham have spent money making a player they already had on loan permanent. West Brom's biggest signing is West Ham not recalling Diangana.

Must win game tomorrow. Can't wait for it.

Not sure how pleased any of us can be with signing three guys none of us have heard of. One of whom, if the f does its job properly will not get anywhere near our first team. Thedonn will be so happy.

The club has delivered albeit three untested players but ones with plenty of potential. Irrespective of what some might say, Harrison was an unknown to many before the links to Leeds surfaced.

Difficult window but we have bums on seats that should give us some room for optimism. We've had plenty of known players arrive who have been shi ite.

I have to say, I had real concerns at the start of January and the club not signing anyone. Boy I am delighted to be wrong and see they signed 3 players. I think the management have done well in this window.

Hopefully now we can March on to bigger and better things. COYL.

We’re basically back to where we were at the start of December, and we needed more players then.

Fingers crossed we get some luck with injuries.

If you hand theses of Augustin then you haven't been following European football. Guy has been highly thought of for years. I also knew of Poveda prior to him being linked.

People seem to state JKA’a lack of starts at club level but he’s been behind Zlatan & Cavani, Werner and lately Ben Yedder.

These are among the best strikers in Europe and he still managed plenty of playing time....I’ll admit I wasn’t totally clued up on him but he must and looks like he’s got something special.

3 years ago he was top scorer and player of the tournament for France playing alongside a certain Mbappe.

It’s exciting.

Just get a feeling he's going to be a right player for us, pace, strength and quality movement. He'll tear this league up once he gets going.
