Refusing to be extorted by Sporting for a player who might come good/might not is good long term business.

We had this problem for years, you have to stop the buck somewhere. Wouldn't be surprised if after 80mil+ for Maguire, Ed decided enough was enough.

It seems clearly like Sporting using brinkmanship to try to get their deal through knowing both the player and the club want each other👍
