Which one player from your football.....

watching lifetime, do you wish you could bring from their prime into your football club today?

Mine would be Diego Maradona. I know every bit of logic and sense says Messi and Ronaldo were on a different planet.

But if i were offered a 22 year old Messi now or Maradona from 1982 - 1990 I'd happily take the risk on Maradona.

Why? Because I think give Maradona today's pitches, today's protection from fouls and all his qualities, he'd be world class in any league.

I could be wrong, but take Maradona out of the Argentina team in 86 (not just hand of god) and they dont win the World Cup.

Which player would you choose and why?

Ledley King. Get him before his knees start crumbling and send him to Dubai for horse placenta or whatever it is they do over there.

Any of Robson, Cantona, Keane, Stam or Joe Jordan would bring a backbone to this jelly infused United team.

Ronaldo.

In his prime he was turning defenders like Maldini, Nesta, Hierro, Cannavaro, Stams, Thuram, De Boer etc

The ultimate striker.

I had to read all of your sentence to realise that you didn't have a point, so thanks for that.

I'll be sure to run any future posts by you just to make sure you agree.

In the meantime, I'll stick with the greatest Liverpool player in my living memory.

Would I rather see Messi or Ronaldo winning a PL winners' medal with Liverpool over Gerrard? Not a f****ing chance.

There is absolute no point in arguing with idiots.

And yet I find myself doing exactly that.

So many to choose from in my lifetime, but one player who played for the Owls and made the biggest difference was Chris Waddle - 1992-1996 - a class player who influenced all those who played alongside him. We had a modicum of success in that era - I'd bring him back today

What a player. Loved when he moved from wide to central. Could just boss a game. Better than Hoddle, just so much talent.

A peak Romario, in our team would be certain to score goals. Ver very rarely missed even a half chance.
