Harvey Barnes

Is the worst finisher I have ever seen at Leicester. Can only score deflections - cost us a huge goal at 2-2 which will be played on YouTube forevermore

Fack off Barnes

Are we talking about the chance I saw late on when Vardy crossed to him?

Yeah that one. He does it all the time - it’s not a one off. He’s a terrible finisher

I definitely didn't think that was worse than the Torres miss.

I didn’t say it was, it’s close though

Cost us the 2 points

Due to our lack of transfer activity in this area of our team, Barnes has probably had more game time than you’d want for a young player who is still developing. The ideal scenario would be to bring him in and then back out like SAF at Man U did with some youngsters.

Now he has been thrown in a little more than we’d perhaps envisioned, all of those areas of his game that he’s trying to development are being placed in the limelight much more than would have been the case if he was being brought through at a slower rate (where a lot of his working on ‘areas of development’ would be in the comparative shadows of training and development matches.

To be fair to the lad - he has 4 goals and 2 assists in his last 6 games. However, he does need to be amore assured with those sorts of chances.

I guess this is a more general theme with a relatively young team on the whole.

Still, we are on the top 4 with a squad we know we need to develop and add to.

Not even close in my opinion or worth bringing the Torres miss up. That was one of the league's all time worst misses. The Barnes miss was just a bad miss that happens in most games.

He’s a frustrating player, no doubt, but is still a player at an early stage in his development.

To be honest with Albrighton and Gray behind him we have little choice but to persist with him at the moment. Normally a player like that would be around the squad and being eased in gently.

We should support him as best we can, whilst having to accept there will be a few ‘head in the hands’ moments like today before the end of the season. Wide forward/winger is an obvious weakness in our team that, for whatever reasons, the club has failed to close in the transfer market.

Barnes will become a top player. Demarai Gray on the other hand

I'll go along with the 'he's young and should improve' bunch. Also he's at least getting into good positions.

Incidentally BS, do you genuinely believe he's the worst finisher you've ever seen at Leicester, were you not around during the Akinbiyi era?

Mate even Akinbiyi would have put away that chance on Saturday. He just needed any kind of clean contact and it was in. It was harder for him to miss
