We missed Matic today too IMO. As with McT being in the XI he'd have allowed Fernandes to play further forward.

Fernenades started dropping deeper after half hour looking for the ball.

We still miss a quality ball player deep in midfield. Fred isn't first team quality, Matic is past it, Mctominay could make it with the right players around him. Hopefully Pogba back soon will help, but then we have poor options further forward.

and this is exactly what I have been even before we bought pogba

there is no point getting a top #10 when you have no one capable of finding him with the right pass. All that will happen is he will end up dropping further and further back to get the ball and become ineffective

He's only 'good' when played centrally.

So who should have played instead?

He isn't good enough but please tell me what Ole was supposed to do differently? It was either Jones or Pereira to play in CM.

it was the managers choice to go into the season with the current crop of cms. He felt they were good enough, i strongly disgree.
