Auba is not winger, Martinelli is not winger, Auba and Lacazette can't play together, Xhaka and Torreira our best mf pair, we need to sell Laca and buy natural left winger, Arteta needed to make earlier changes and Pepe should've been one of them.
Auba is wasted on wing, he is a striker, Martinelli also. We need to sell Laca and replace him with new left winger. Pepe should alwys start as he is our only real winger.
Few things

Auba had 2 clear cut chances. Martinelli is better striker than Laca tbh...drop Laca play te formation below
Auba - Martinelli - Pepe

Temporary solution.

Lemar for Laca in the summer. Get it done.
James or someone to play behind them and sell Ozil.
AND BIG BLACK CENTRE MIDFIELD PLAYER WHO CAN DOMINATE.

There is no "Bigger problem" at AFC than Mesut Ozil. To say he's a natural CAM is an incredibly bad joke at this point. On strength of performances given, Ozil isn't a natural anything. He's TOTALLY ineffective, to the point of null and void in games. Zero presence as a player makes him the equivalent of a fat empty space, running around the pitch in place of a player.
I don't necessarily expect people to have as much contempt for Ozil as me. But the continued acceptance of his all season non existent presence in the team is getting totally out of hand here. NEVER have I seen a player so deserving of fan criticism and abuse, just not get it and repeatedly get away with being invisible and workshy, week in week out.

I sure hope the article I saw in the BBC Gossip list was fake, we had a chance to sell him to Qatar and Arteta blocked it.

I would happily spend the majority of the budget on Leroy Sane and a top midfielder

Oh and wouldn't worry about where Martinelli is going to play. Since I doubt very much we will be hanging on to him past this upcoming summer. Assuming he stays fit, he will be one of the summer's hottest properties. He will be getting offered more money than we'll be willing to pay him AND CL football, so no way he stays to keep being a part of our current sh!t show. You can expect to see Pep at the front of the queue with the big money offer for Martinelli. Hell knowing him, he's got people tapping the kid up already (if he calls him a special player when we play them, that's a done deal).
If these results continue, ANY of our younger players who get interest from CL clubs, will be out the door in the summer. We are in big trouble next season because you know Kronke ain't spending a dime to replace anyone with quality.

Martinelli has struggled to stay with the pace of play over the full 90 minutes. Perfectly understandable at his age. Especially in a new league.
Trying to force him into Starting XIs every week at this stage of his career is rather unfair.

Tbf I think that's happened due to circumstances calling for it, as opposed to Arteta's preferred choice. I agree he shouldn't be playing 90 mins often, if at all, at this stage. Problem we have now though is we've showcased him enough already that his undeniable top notch potential has be made clear to all. Regardless how much anyone wants to be playing him in his development, EVERY top club is watching that space. Short of a personal connection or loyalty to Edu (assuming he was an Edu addition), we simply won't get to keep him.

But it doesn't have to be that way.
If it were up to me, I'd start the 3 older forwards together and then use Martinelli off the bench. Both as competition and as a sobering motivation for anyone slacking off.
Nketiah is a bit behind the curve I'll admit, but I could also see us using him in the same way.

I'd not be starting him either. As a club we never did seem to learn from the first lot, that playing youngsters too much breaks them and lumbers them with career recurrent injuries.
