We've forgotten how to win ugly.

Bielsa is a world-renowned coach but the Championship is an unforgiving place. For all his plaudits he's being outfoxed by increasing numbers in this division.

I'm not going to lay into the players and I'm certainly not going to advocate a sports psychologist.

The system isn't working with the players we've got and that's the key. Relentless pressing and bags of possession isn't converting into 3 points and that's costing us dearly.

I'm not a football fan, I'm a Leeds United fan. I'll admit I'd not heard of Bielsa before he came on our radar although retrospectively i recall that I'd seen Marseille beat Nice under his charge in an awesome attacking performance.

We need someone well-versed at this level to succeed. Unlikely to happen this season and my prediction of 7th is looking unfortunately accurate as we continue to secure points.

Brentford is going to be almost mission impossible and perhaps another step backwards and downwards.

AR et al need to think long and hard about what might happen should we miss out again. Bielsa will be off and that won't necessarily be a negative thing but the next appointment needs to be right.

I migh be wrong, we might turn this around but we've become too predictable and too easy to unlock. For all his genius, he can't go feral and play ugly. That's what we need to win this league.

Today's defeat bothered me. Forest are bang average, they've made themselves difficult to beat and ridden their luck to get where they are. If you ignore the free kicks and long range speculative shots they carved out 3 chances, scored 2 and fcked up the other.. all from us giving the ball away. We didn't trouble their keeper until about the 80th minute. We controlled most of the game and created f all.

milkyboy - you’ve used this term ‘bang average’ a number of times when referring to Forest - and whilst I’d agree where not really set the League on fire, I think we’re more that your description

Forest looked fitter, more energetic and up for it today - whilst you may have had more possession - you’re team did absolutely nothing with it, completely devoid of ideas in the final third...and as for Bamford, his confidence looked completely shot to pieces

I was surprised how poor your team were for all the possession you had, I expected so much more from Leeds, I seriously thought you’d turn us over today, but you didn’t really create anything

So, Barcelona were definitely not but we’re a little bit more than ‘bang average’ - whatever our game plan was, it was executed perfectly and once we took the lead, we never looked liked relinquishing it

Saying all that, I really hope if we’re fortunate enough to go up this season, I’d love Leeds to to be the other team - your supporters are an amazingly loyal bunch who deserve to be in the top flight

I thought Forest wanted it more, played teh right tactics against us, clearly targeted our weak spot Casilla and possibly also targeted the loss of Philips.

Can have no complaints on result based on todays performance but do have complaints regarding our performance!

Fair enough revπŸ‘ I concentrate on my own team more than others. We got what we deserved today. Played some nice football in hatches but not in areas of the pitch where it mattered.

Personally in the times I’ve seen you and a a fair few reports I’ve seen it feels like you’re a well organised side who’ve ridden your luck a bit. Bit like we were under monk. You’ll have a better though on your true worth than me. I Like forest, proper club like to see you back in the Prem.. though not at our expense obviously!

Mate, I think you’re right to an extent, we haven’t been consistently great this season, and at times ridden our luck (especially at home) - our tactics away seem to suit us much better, and we’ve had some great results

Our home form has been very patchy, partly because we’ve tried to play on the counter - which I don’t like - I think we should be more offensive - but it’s actually(on the whole) has got us results

Today though, I thought we controlled the game very well, even though you had the majority of possession, when we came forward, we looked dangerous, and I think it was our best home performance of the season

I know many opposing fans, thinks were poor and negative....but at the end of the day, if that gets promotion, then you can all the class, skill and possession in the world, but you’ll still be travelling to the likes of Wigan, Reading and Hull next year

We’re ‘learning’ how to win ugly I suppose

you must have watched a different game, we had possession but controlled nothing.

Forest could easily have had 3 more including a penalty, we could easily have been down to 10 men.

The better team won, we were teh worst Ive seen us for a long time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whatever Andy hinchcliffe thought it was never a penalty in my view. Yep Alioski was trying his best to get sent off (might have been a blessing as he was a liability) Grabban missed that sitter, don’t recall much else. Still more than we created, but all in transition from our fck ups.

We got into loads of good positions in both halves and barely mustered a dangerous cross from them all game.

They got in good positions less frequently but were more dangerous. Don’t think the conditions helped either side play great football but didn’t think we were noticeably worse with the ball than other games recently... bar the final ball being even worse than usual - something I didn’t think possible.

πŸ‘ I’d love to win ugly occasionally. You’re certainly on a good run. Auto is up for grabs for whoever hits their marks in the next couple of months.

As we were at the start of the season we are missing a few crucial players. Someone to dominate the middle someone who can get enough goals and someone who can organise the defence plus a reliable keeper.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds like we are just 5 or 6 players short of a team then!
