Been a long time reader of this forum since way back since its inception. Decided it was time to dust off the membership as 1 of the main reasons was that of late I've seen regular posters on here being challenged by other clubs fans for not being "real fans", this mainly based on their lack of visits to matches. So what are the ground rules there. I 1st visited anfield in 1993. Watched us come from a goal down against oldham to win 2-1 in the final few minutes of the game. From there i was hooked. Since then ive averaged about 6 games a season ive attended. I hold a membership card and if i had success in the ballots id sweep up tickets. Unfortunately for me the ballots are a constant waste of time. I never have any success leaving me scrambling for tickets most seasons off of people i have made contacts with over the years. This season, ive made 3 games. I will probably only make 1 more as the season progresses. I know everything there is to know about the club inside and out. Never miss a game even though i cant get there always and im from Glasgow. So does this qualify me as a real fan?

No not to me directly. But as i say i read this forum daily and see a lot of guys on here being challenged on their credentials as real fans as they dont go to games etc. Its regularly churned out by Raptor for example, with no real substance behind it. So i wondered what these people actually classed as real fans. What are the boxes that need ticked of in their eyes.

I followed partick thistle home and away for years mate, the only team that matters in glasgow!! However started to fall away from them the last 7 or 8 years and focused more of my time off and money on trying to get to liverpool games more frequently.

No fake fan would put in the effort that regular posters put in on this site.
Apart from that Yoda caaant.
In fact I'd argue that sites like this are more for people that can't make it to games or are not able to keep in touch with current affairs.
When I lived in England I had an account on old 606 but I hardly posted or even visited the site that much. It was only after I started living and working abroad that the need to read and post on forums like this one grew and I became a regular poster. I didn't feel the need before that.

Out of curiosity mate, ive noticed a few empty seats around old trafford of late, not many mind but i honestly cant say ive ever seen that in my lifetime, even under moyes, van gaal you never saw that. You think thsts more to do with glazers, woodward etc as opposed to the actual team?
