Leeds Utd v Brentford Matchday Thread

Following hard on the heels of the massive disappointment at the City Ground, we move on to Brentford looking to put a stop to this dire patch we're going through, not the easiest place to get a result with our history in that area................................
Welcome to the Thread, and the perfect opportunity for the Team to give us Fans a true statement of intent

Venue...Griffin Park...Date...Tues 11th Feb...Kick Off...19:45hrs

Team News
Leeds United
Leeds will start influential midfielder Kalvin Phillips after a three-match ban but Tyler Roberts (calf) misses out.
Adam Forshaw remains sidelined due to a long-term hip problem. Recent loan signing Jean-Kevin Augustin is hoping to feature again after making his debut off the bench at the weekend.

Brentford
Brentford boss Thomas Frank is optimistic that captain Pontus Jansson will be back in time to face his former club Leeds on Tuesday evening. The Sweden international has been missing with a hip injury for the past month but has resumed training.

Frank otherwise has no injury worries . New signings Shandon Baptiste and Tariqe Fosu continue to await their debuts, having been unused substitutes for Saturday's win over Middlesbrough.

Match facts
Brentford are unbeaten in their past nine home league matches against Leeds United (W6 D3) since losing 2-1 in August 1950.
Leeds have not scored more than once in any of their previous 13 league matches against Brentford, netting just eight goals (W3 D5 L5).
Should Leeds win at Brentford, it would be 69 years and 169 days since their last away league win there, their second biggest gap between away league wins against an opponent, with their longest standing at 74 years between wins at Millwall in 1931 and 2005.
Brentford are looking to win three consecutive league games for the first time since October - they've won their last two by an aggregate score of 8-3.
Leeds have lost their past six away league matches in London, including four away defeats this season alone at Charlton, Millwall, Fulham and QPR.

So..........we haven't won this fixture since Jonty was a teenager ,

A daunting task, but one that is achievable if the right Leeds get off the bus
I can only see a resounding 1-2 win for the Mighty Whites (Mad Unbridled Optimism ) With White scoring the equaliser and Augustin getting the winner
(you have to be mad to do this thread season after season

Well, watching that game, Leeds were so dominant that a draw realy feels like 2 points lost.
However, given the poor run of lately, have to be happy with that performance, and point

Harrison and Costa missed sitters. It's not just Bamford, sadly. Manwhile, Brum steal the points at Barnsley with another Scott Hogan goal. Is he on 35K a week?

Much better performance, Costa should.have nailed 1 of his 2 missed sitters. (Harrison missed a sitter in first half). 2 points dropped based on how we totally dominated the bees tonight.

Agreed, if we do not win games that we dominate as much as that have to look at it as 2 points dropped.

Just seen the result and looking at the stats and it seems another Kiko mistake I'm disappointed but also relieved we showed some balls and put in a much improved performance. Fulham will probably go second tomorrow night but at least some seeds of optimism have been sowed for the rest of the season.
We are still alive!
