Hello fellow redmen!
So I have just been watching some vids on YouTube and the topic of our beloved captain being player of the year came up in discussions.
Now Jordan had what you could say quite a difficult start to his Liverpool career. He was made captain straight after one of the if not the best player in Liverpool's history and he was entrusted with the mantle of taking Liverpool forward. He was also subjected to the possible transfer to Fulham in 2012 by Brendan feckin Rodgers, who's replacement we would have been Clint Dempsey. (Thank feck that didn't happen!)
Luckily Jordan was set on fighting for his place and career before potentially lamenting I'm his name into Liverpool folklore as the first captain to bring home our first Premier League title in 30 years.
Whilst Jordan has had his critics and I know I have been a big critic of his in his early years, we have seen the momumental rise of potentially one of our best captains in our very highly decorated history. For a club steeped in history, this is no mean feat. In fact, it's such an exponential rise by a player many thought was a sideways pass merchant that he thoroughly deserves every plaudit he may receive this season.
One of his highlights for me this season, and he has had many, is his pass to Mo Salah last game against Southampton. What a ball and a great goal to top that assist off.
So in conclusion I believe Jordan should get POTY because quite frankly what he stands to achieve this year, plus the Champions League win last year ensures he will go down as one of Liverpool's best captains in our history. So well done Jordan, you've been superb this year and you certainly get my vote.
