WEST BROM v FOREST Match Thread

After a dismal and inept midweek display, the pressure is back on Forest to get any kind of result in order to keep any hopes alive of staying in touch with the top 2

A defeat could see us out of the Playoffs by 5pm if results go against us - that’s how tight this league is

I’m still bitterly disappointed with our midweek debacle - add that result alongside conceding 91st minute equaliser against Millwall and a 98th minute equaliser against Reading - and we’d be sitting pretty at the top of the league....but as it is, we’re touch and go as to whether we’ll even make the Playoffs

Forest are a cruel Club, they do it over and over again to us supporters - just when they look like they’re getting it together, the blow it and totally mess up

Well, this next game is a MUST NOT LOSE game - I’m hoping Grabben, Ribeiro, Cash, Ameobi & Sow are all back in the starting line up and that the manager has them all in the same mindset as they were against Leeds - otherwise it’ll be a long, hard afternoon

Here’s forever hoping

That is a terrible deliberate studs up kick by Livermore & he should have been off.
Stroud should never ref a Forest game ever again.

And Caroline Flack has committed suicide

Sorry mate, but with all condolences to her family and friends, I've never heard of her.
Who is she?

She has nothing to do with me mate, she’s just a well known UK celebrity

It’s a shock to hear she’s taken her own life at just 40 years old

It is a shock whenever anyone takes their own life. My cousin did. It still makes me sad 25 years later.

I thought West Brom were lucky.

Livermore should have been sent off, Grabban had time instead of placing his header wide, no foul on Ameobi leading to their goal, Lolley doesn’t get the penalty.

The decisions were awful throughout.

Just thought i'd add an Albion perspective to proceedings.

I agree the ref was awful but I fail to see how he favoured us. Cash should've been off well before he scored the equaliser for a second bookable offence.

The ref was giving no protection to our players, particularly Pereira who your players had obviously targeted judging by the way he was being kicked off the park.

Then there's our disallowed goal which looked perfectly legitimate to me.

To say we were lucky is absurd. You had one shot on target which didn't come until the 91st minute. We had 9 on target, far more shots in total and far more possession. We ran the game!

Having said all this, a point has extended the gap between us and third place so i'm happy.

Just one last point. Out of all the players playing for top 6/7 teams who've come to the Hawthorns this season, Sow is comfortable the worst. I was shocked at just how much of a donkey he is. Surely you've got better options than him?

On a plus point, I thought your support was top notch. Probably the best away support of this season!

Are you serious about Cash, it was a perfectly timed’ robust’ challenge, no more than that, your player was immediately back on his feet, only Bilic, a former centre half complained, let’s face it he was no angel, but you wouldn’t expect him to be. Unless you want to ban tackling altogether, I am afraid your point doesn’t hold water. Your ‘goal’ was correctly ruled out, no debate.
I am sure you probably will get promoted this season, but hardly any of your players are good enough for the prem, and thugs like Livermore certainly aren’t.
One thing we can agree on, the ref had a shocker, but his assistants were no better.

Hilarious comments. I particularly liked the one about the ref giving you no protection and Pereira being kicked off the park. I watched again on ifollow and counted two free kicks for fouls on Pereira by half time, with one possible foul not given. He also had your one first half shot on target, apart from the goal, after 49 minutes. It was as lethal as a back pass.

By then Grabban had missed a sitter, Silva had shot just over, and Ameobi had produced a cross which Grabban would have tucked away if your lad hadn't sliced it into his own net.

Ameobi was scythed down after 4 minutes as he broke out of defence. Livermore tried to end Ribeiro's career, then stood over him and screamed abuse. We got free kicks and no more for those fouls, which should have produced a yellow and a red card.

No point even starting on the 2nd half as the officials were so bad, but they at least got it right at the death when Bartley pushed Figueiredo over and fell on top of him. Clear foul and clearly interfering with play, so no goal.

Yep, i'm serious. Livermore's "foul" was no worse.

As for whether our players are good enough for the Prem, we can worry about that once we're promoted but i'd say Ajayi, Furlong, Ferguson, Gibbs, Pereira, Krovinovic are all more than good enough. We've then got 5-6 players who are decent squad players so we'll need 5-6 new players in the summer who are an improvement on what we've got.

I'm hoping West Ham get relegated because the signs are that Diangana would like to join us and i'd imagine Robinson would be keen too.

So 2 centre forwards, a centre back and a defensive midfielder would do it!
