VAR dear oh dear

Too many things have gone against Chelsea tonight. Ridiculous that Maguire was not sent off and was on the pitch to score. Ridiculous that Fred's involvement in the Azpilicueta incident was not recognised. VAR was supposed to make things better but it's just a farce. There will be conspiracy theories, and on this evidence, rightly so. It always seems to be the same 2 or 3 teams benefitting from VAR.

I just thank my lucky stars it's not in the Championship...yet. The minute my team has to play in a league with VAR, that'll be the point where I chuck my season ticket renewal form straight in the bin and do something else on a Saturday instead. I'm already at the point of watching 2 minute Premier League highlights on YouTube instead of full games. Fair play to anyone who thinks it's made the game better, but it's not nor will it ever be for me.

VAR is just exposing the obvious bias and corruption that is within football, with Pool and United the main beneficiaries.

Some clubs get the benefit of doubt, others don`t. It`s nothing new, VAR is just proving what goes on.

Agree entirely with the offside but Maguire should have been sent off quite clearly and Chelsea's first goal should have stood, also quite clearly.

The result means nothing to me either way, I thought Chelsea were much the better team in the first half and manu were better in the second half.

But it's worrying to see VAR being so badly used.

After this weekend, Liverpool have now been denied by VAR calls more than they’ve benefited.

That’ll be a tough pill for some on here to swallow but that’s what bias does to people.

That's my whole point for posting. The technology is obviously not foolproof as the fools who are using it are fckin it up!

I can sympathise with poor referee decisions, for example the Willian yellow card is wrong but the referee has to go on what he's seen in real time.

What I struggle to accept is how the VAR team concluded the way they did for the maguire red and Zouma goal. They must have seen fairly similar images to us, and it seems the majority of us and commentators agree that they were wrong decisions. The Maguire stamp was worse than Son's (although a bit of me is pleased Batshuayi received studs for yet another awful display, it still should have been red). Can Maguire be retrospectively banned?

Chelsea were really unlucky tonight with VAR and the injuries. Not a great performance, perhaps we didn't deserve anything from the match, but it still feels sore to lose in this manner.

Also, no idea why Zouma was booked either!
